The verdict is in.......................

Quoted Text
Best Daily Newspaper

The Daily Gazette

The Daily Gazette wins again with all-around solid news coverage of the Capital Region, Saratoga and the regions west and south of here. Great columnist-essayists (including Carl Strock, Stephen Williams and Sara Foss) help, and having the best comics pages in the local dailies doesn’t hurt.

well considering that nearly all of their best of picks were from Albany and Saratoga counties, I thought it interesting.......................remember, just 'cause the 380 or so folks who inhabit Virtual Rotterdam don't care for the Gazette, there's a whole other big world out there where people are a bit more objective...

Probably because most of the people who voted, don't live in Schenectady, where we would have more of a tendency to notice the amount of under-reporting, mis-reporting of certain issues, because we are experiencing them first hand.

That's also the same reason the TU didn't win, because where they live, the TU does the same thing.
I myself consider the TU to be much superior.

One thing I think we can all agree on though, is that the Troy Record is suitable only for lining bird cages, and puppy training.

Given the number of pages in daily editions lately, the number of major advertisers, poor coupon insertion and the pittance of classified ads, i think more people are NOT reading the DG than ARE.  Their website sucks, and they charge you for that garbage.  It's so slanted (except a couple notable reporters, Mason included) it's hardly worth lining the dog cage with.  In fact, when my dog was asked to "fetch" the Gazette, he went into hysterical laughter that  he's still recovering from.  Then, he took the kibble from his dish and made the outline of letters saying   "W H Y - L O L".  Ya, I've got a smart pooch.

Just my opinion.
