I will CHOOSE to support whomever I believe to be the BEST candidate -- whether Democrat or Republican. I am NOT blinded by a political party label as many of the nayboobs are!

At this time, I am NOT endorsing any candidate in this race.  I started this thread to give equal time to the challenger in this race and hopefully the race will generate a lot of INTELLIGENT and THOUGHTFUL debate/discussion of the issues.  It should be an interesting race due to the newly drawn district lines and it is my hope that it will be a truly lively, at least two candidate race ---- if you know of any other candidates running start a thread for the candidate(s).

Furthermore - In my opinion, there is a difference between loyalty and blind allegiance and making a thoughtful decision as an informed voter ------ POSITIONS ON ISSUES DO MATTER.   Just because someone has a (D) or (R) or (C) or (I) or (WF) behind his or her name does not mean that I will automatically support/vote for or oppose/not vote for the person.   I have been and will remain a loyal Democrat but reserve the right to vote my conscience and - as I have stated numerous times - I am not happy with the extreme lurch to the far left and - what I have labelled, "neo-liberal" positions held by some members of my party.

The Democratic Party that I grew up with and joined and support is a BIG TENT party with room for a variety of points of view from conservative to liberal.   And hopefully, it will remain that way despite the "neo-liberals" attempts to the contrary.

For the record - IF and WHEN I choose to endorse a candidate publicly it may or may NOT be something I share with this blog. In my humble opinion whatever challenger Mr. Tonko has will face an uphill climb .....yet I will vote for the individual I believe will best represent my beliefs ---- whether or not that pleases those on the extreme fringe of EITHER party.

I am sure Mr. Tonko will contact you on his own to request that you dont publically endorse him.  Not a lot of people like you......not a good reputation.....dont have a lot of friends.....Just sayin!

To anyone fooled the proof is now in. But he was right about Chris Gibson. Taxin Tonko must be re-elected to complete his Bridge To Nowhere in Amsterdam and pad his triple public pension plan County/State/Federal. Besides who else would remove art from the church before the great unwashed appeal their DEM insane taxes?

No question that taxin' tonko has got to go.......but folks shouldn't be so quick to flip the lever for Dieterich either JUST BECAUSE he's not tonko!

Get the facts first!! Do your own vetting!
