Schenectady mayor swears in new police recruits

Schenectady Police will soon have more help fighting crime.
Mayor McCarthy today swore in five new police recruits; Duane Bechand, Bradley Carlton, Michael Gailor, Jared Jupin and Teodoro Popolizio.
Four of the men currently live in Schenectady. Gailor lives in Saratoga Springs.
They will enter the training academy tomorrow for six months of basic training followed by 12 weeks of supervised training in the field.

Our question is, are the line items in the city budget for this year?
The city recently learned it's $5 MIL in the red last year.
The city has NO CLUE where it stands this year
The city already is WAY OVER BUDGET on refunding property taxes ordered by the courts since the dem puppet assessment board refused in 2011 (and perhaps before) to reduce assessment values to the market values despite overwhelming proof presented by those who submitted grievances.
The city has NOT stated any cuts to deal with the budget
The city has NOT done anything to force the millionaires and politically connected downtown to pay their taxes
The city ha NOT done anything to make Philip Morris and Eric Ely pay their ILLEGAL STAR exemptions
And the city is hiring five more employees?
From where is the money to pay these employees, and their lavish benefits, coming from?

Probably going into the K9 unit...they're 'allowed' to bring their vehicles home with them. Wonder if the recruits colleges were verified this time around. Would hate to train someone again just to have their on-line university turn out bogus ($150 for a BA.....what a deal!). |
