Got plans outside tomorrow? You might want to think about canceling them. The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the entire state from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. on Tuesday. That means that DEC meteorologists have detected high levels of pollutants in the air. “When you have a combination of heat and high humidity, it makes for a very dangerous situation,” explained Dr. Christopher King, Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Albany Medical Center. Active park goers know the routine to avoid a heat related illness. “I try and drink extra, extra water before I go out,” explained Troy resident Cheryl King as she was lacing up her roller-skates for an evening workout. “I take water with me, I take deep breaths, and take a good pace,” said Loudonville resident Maureen Furlong who tells us she is “approaching ninety.” We've heard it a million times…drink lots of fluids and stay out of the sun. But on Tuesday - the warning is a bit more serious.
