burnout goes to concert and dies, concert promoters fault |

I think that they should be using drones and cameras at these events. And there should be tracking devices in their wristbands. And any profits to the event holder should pay for these. |

Ultimately the choice to do the drugs was the girls but I do think that there needs to be some accountability from the promoters as well. They target the drug culture, promote the drug culture, acknowledge and accept the drug culture attheir venue, do nothing to dissuade the use of drugs at the venue, and have a history of drug related medical problems occurring...the promoters should be taking greater action or they shouldn't continue with these concerts.
I feel bad for this girl's mother-I wouldn't wish the situation on anyone. I don't know if I believe she is "owed" anything, but I do believe that situations like these can't continue to be ignored and written off. There are people making big money off of these festivals and they are doing so knowing that they are creating a dangerous environment. |

Oh Parent get real, if this isn't happening there it's happening in an apartment, or a house, or a club. People are gonna party, it's been happening since the begging of time. Maybe if prudes like yourself didn't force prohibition on everyone people could do it in a safer manner. |

No need to attack Parent for having a different viewpoint. He or she is always respectful of the other posters. |

How am I a prude for believing that if you purposely target and encourage drug activity you should be willing to be responsible for the outcomes? Either provide the safety and care for these people or stop putting on the event. That is not prohibition-that is doing it in a safe manner. Dumping a bunch of young people in a field, filling it with drugs and then creating an atmosphere of nonchalance is a recipe for disaster. The promoters are aware of what goes on and they should be prepared to handle it--if they can not than they shouldnt be doing it. |

Drugs happen at every concert, in the end the blame goes to those doing the drugs end of story. Recently I went to the EGG in Albany for a concert, not the place you would expect drug use, well 1 hour in the the pot smoke could be visibly seen lingering throughout the place, not that I was complaining As A Better Rotterdam stated this is not new, you can't stop people from sneaking illegal substances in these places unless you want full blown cavity searches. |

But when you know from past history that they will be there and that it will result in multiple medical emergencies youhave the obligation to make sure medical care will be available. If you can not ensure a certain of level safety than theevent should be cancelled. I don't expect that they will be able to stop the drug use--that is why the argument is being presented that they need to be prepared for the resulting ODs, etc that are bound to happen. |

As far as the 'promoter'...........they are NOT responsible for the behavior of others. They state the laws and rules that are in place and it is then the responsibility of the 'event goers' to follow them.
We already make bartenders responsible for their patrons getting drunk.....what's next.....a waitress getting sued for serving a too high calorie dinner to someone obese?
I mean come on here folks.....let's use a little common sense here.....how far do you want this to go????
On the flip side......prayers to the parents of the girl. |

We'll see if the promoters are considered responsible or not. I am personally a bit torn on it myself--I think when you know people are likely to need medical care it should be a responsibility to provide it--most large venues (amusement parks, sports arenas, ect) do this. Camp Bisco did have medical care but was it sufficient? The mother says no--the courts will determine it themselves. I don't know if the details of what happened to her have ever been released, I at least have not read what happened...did she seek help and nit get it, did they know of her condition and ignore it? It should be interesting to see how the whole thing sorts out.
