If you're into this type of stuff (I am because of the tech and music angle) the shows from M'ville are being live streamed..............not sure of the quality 'cause I just thought about it a little while ago and checked to see if they might be doing it.

Drugs, trauma
from Camp Bisco
hit Ellis ER

DUANESBURG — Drug-related conditions and broken bones represented about a third of the casualties the Ellis Hospital Emergency Room had to handle out of Camp Bisco 11.
Ellis Medicine spokeswoman Donna Evans said 32 patients from Bisco were treated in their emergency room from Thursday to late in the afternoon Saturday. Since Wednesday, she said 10 people were admitted to the hospital for either overdosing, other drug-related conditions, broken bones and other injuries.
“Generally, we’re seeing patients with conditions and injuries ranging from the less serious sunburn and heat–related illness and cuts and bruises to fractures and ODs,” Evans said.
Between early morning Friday until 5 p.m. on Saturday, the hospital dealt with 15 patients from Bisco, which included four overdoses. Evans previously told the Gazette that the hospital had taken steps to be prepared to handle an infl ux of patients from Bisco.
Late on Wednesday morning the body of a worker setting up the campground’s concession stand was found, apparently the victim of a drug overdose.
A spokesman for the event did not return an email or phone call on Saturday afternoon.

Ban large gatherings and music festivals.  Or double the police presents to prevent injuries.  Or, mandate everybody attending have a 3 day insurance policy lasting for the duration of the festival.  You know, the things they didn't do in the 60's when they held music festivals.

Why stop at music festivals? Ban any gathering of more than 4 people, unless each individual has insurance..............

Heard at Dunkin Donuts 5 corners this morning that at lease one off duty CO from Schdy was on staff up there this weekend.  Too bad they don't have ability to arrest people seen using drugs, contraband.  Everyone in DD was talking about what a disaster that is up there.  One guy who was a homeowner in the area, said it reminded him of Woodstock.  I have to wonder if it was Alias getting his morning coffee

When I drove past the encampment on Thursday I counted 8 state police and sherrif dept cars between where the encampment is and Mariaville Lake causway. Another state police car was also just below Maple Ski Ridge clocking speeders. To say the place was crowded at Camp Bisco would be an understatement.

Mandate?....Ban?

Guess your whole 'Libertarian' attitude went out the window.

I didn't' think the TIC was necessary.  I was mocking neo con Benny for blaming the promoters for the overdoses and injuries and the costs incurred by Ellis.  Instead of making the individuals responsible for it, Benny goes for the rule of deep pockets.

Funny how the Gazetto focused on the crime/od's at both the Phish fest at SPAC and at Camp Bisco.

Guess they'd rather write puff pieces about the safety of bike trails rather than focus on how much revenue both these music festivals brought to the area.

Strange that thousands of people came to our area only for the Gazetto to slam it to the ground.

I'm sure when the free festival in the City happens or the Stockade events go on, we won't hear of the crimes which occur there.

My friend's 2 kids are up there. They said that it is a great time and that where there are, there were no issues. They said that they heard rumblings of the 'misfortunes' going on and they just said.....'some people are just plain stupid'!

The gazetto should focus more on the 'crime reality' in schenectady!

It is all part of a PR campaign for Ellis Hospital. Justifying the $15.3 million dollar bond granted by Metroplex.  Don't let the newly created sub authority called the CRC mislead you.  The public opinion of Metroplex must be low, so now they are spending money under a new authority.  DON'T BE FOOLED!  Propaganda is subtle.
