Yea... Only in Schenectady to bad things happen on the bike path... ONLY in Schenectady!
One can't deny that bad things happen everywhere...One also can't deny that statistically bad things happen MORE FREQUENTLY in Schenectady than everywhere else in NYS.

I could care less what is happening in places I DON"T LIVE NEAR!! I care what is happening, and what is not happening in Schenectady..It's where I'm from and someplace I'd love to see return to its former glory.
Box, you sound like my kids when they get caught doing something wrong.. "Well, Joey does the same thing and his parents don't' say anything"... i guess in my kids mind, and apparently yours as well, it's OK if someone else is doing it... and worse yet, its justifiable if an authority figure lets it happen.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Not at all Tbird... I don't condone any crime in Schdy or any where else. There are a few posters on this board who only see the bad in Schenectady... ALL THEY SEE IS THE BAD.
They seem to rejoice in every crime or disaster, and post them here as if these things happen no where else in the world. It's as if any negative event justifies their view, while any positive event is impossible.
In the overall scheme of things, someone shooting on the bike path is a negative event, but a minor event compared to other things that I posted, that happen on bike paths in our state.
I'm just following a continuing theme on this board: NOTHING GOOD EVER HAPPENS IN SCHENECTADY...EVER!

Well Box, other than the 2 block radius around Proctors, most of the news out of Schenectady is bad. Most of the people that frequent the "Proctors area" don't even live in the city, nor do the owners of these businesses. The people that do live in the city do so in close to "war zone" neighborhoods, which the city "leaders" don't seem to care about. First it was Hamilton hill, then Mt Pleasant, then the Mcclellan and brandywine neighborhoods.. where does it stop? Their mantra seems to be "don't look behind the curtain".

The residents of Schenectady have very a downtown that looks good for 2 blocks, has a lot of good gin mills, a good number of taxes and fees that are driving them to bankruptcy.

WOW! An ALMOST Positive post about Downtown Schdy!!! These are rare, even if the post is only half Positive!!! Well Box, other than the 2 block radius around Proctors, most of the news out of Schenectady is bad.
This post implies that the 2 block radius around Proctors ISN'T bad!!! There is SOMETHING GOOD IN SCHDY!!!

It's equivalent to saying a person that is dying from congestive heart failure has a perfectly functioning liver.

As I suspected... "even the two blocks around Proctors" is not really a good thing.
So... would it be a good thing if those two blocks around Proctors just disappeared??? Went back to the way it was before the downtown re-do?
Would you rather have the 2 blocks around Proctors, with the revenue and jobs they produce, or go back to the pre-revitalization downtown??

I tell you what Box...what don't you pose those question(s) to the people that LIVE in the city and in those war zone neighborhoods???
If you want to ignore the state of the residents of the city, you might as well fence off the Proctors business area and call it Mall of America East.
