The dems CONTINUE to screw the homeowners.

Mike just called me, a co-worker of his that has a house in the city and went through that assessment grievance.   They got their decision by the board.

Anyone want to take a guess on what the answer was?

Yes, it was denied.   Anyone want to take a wild guess on the reason for denial ?????

Um, not enough information provided - despite the fact that they had two private assessments, real estate professionals and reams of paperwork to backup their claim

I would hope that the Board of Assessment Review look at ALL matters in a fair and impartial manner -- yet I certainly expect that the nayboobs are NOT granted a request to pay LESS than their fair share of taxes-- simply because they scream and cry like he-she monkeys locked in an attic.

you don't know what fair is....let me give you a lesson

fair is in being able to work hard to obtain what you need/want without interference from some slob
fair is what one thinks they have because it has the value they wanted and sought after

what is the VALUE of the taxes paid by tax payers???????

go ahead and measure it....get back to me at your leisure

Oh gosh, Glry, HOW in the world can you hold your head up, how can you sit with your fellow colleagues on the town planning board, how can you speak with your fellow party people, when you say things that are so very very very wrong?????

You are so far off base in your comment above, and that proves that you are not nor have never never been a homeowner and/or property taxpayer (if you were, you would know this).

When a homeowner goes before the board of assessment, they are not "grieving their taxes."    They go before the board because the city claims their house is worth more than it really is.

What has happened in Schenectady is that a homeowners can submit a grievance, he would submit an appraisal (by a licensed, trained, and experienced appraiser), hell, he could submit 5 appraisals; he could bring a list of each and every house in the city that sold in arms' length sales during the past year,  he could bring photos of inside and out of his own house and all houses that sold, he could bring all kinds of charts, and maybe even a power point presentation, to prove that the market value of the house is so much lower than the city claims it is.

And then with overwhelming numbers and all the supporting documentation, the dem party appointed board is denying grievances and the reason for their denial is "insufficient data."

See, Glry, it is the LAW that the city MUST assess based on the MARKET VALUE of the property, and law defines market value as 'the amount that a willing buyer pays to a willing seller."   If the city assesses a house for $100,000 and the seller lists it to sell for that price and no one is willing to buy at that price, but seller lowers the asking price, and if there are still no wiling buyers, the price is lowered again.  IF no one buys the house when the asking price is $60,000, but finally the house sells for $55,000, then the market value is roughly $55,000 and THAT is what the city, BY LAW MUST LOWER the value of the house to!!!!!!!!   If the city does not lower the assessment to that amount, AND IF the homeowner submits a grievance to the board of assessment, it is the OBLIGATION of the board to lower the assessment.

Sadly, in Schenectady, the board of assessment is merely a tool of the democrat party, they are party puppets and NOTHING MORE.

are NOT granted a request to pay LESS than their fair share of taxes.

Hey Glry, speaking of "fair share of taxes" would you care to tell us how the downtown millionaires are paying their "fair share of taxes" when they do NOT pay taxes, and that has been PROVEN BASED ON THE EVIDENCE ON THE OFFICIAL PROPERTY RECORDS maintained by the city, the county, and the state????

When millionaire owners of lavish huge buildings downtown pay NOTHING and homeowners of modest little houses pay their own taxes PLUS the taxes of downtown, tell us how that is "fair"?

What is your definition of "fair share"    Is it the poor pay for the rich dem party puupets?

Well, can you answer?

Can you explain what is "fair share" of taxes?    Huh?   Is it the poor homeowner pays the taxes for downtown?   Is it Glry?   And HOW is that fair"

So how's it going for you getting an easy high paying job?   Have the dems given you a job yet?    Beyond your town planning position ?

Actually the question is how stupid is MikeChristine that he/she keeps believing something that is totally untrue.   I do not post under any other user name.   Whoever posts or says otherwise is either ignorant and/or a liar.

Yeah, and that's why you've posted comments under one name and then under the other name, you make reference to having made a comment, when the comment was made under the other name.

You forget.   You probably should be writing your passwords down in your little black book (it sure as heck doesn't have any women's names in it), so you can remember, because it's obvious you forgot some of them since you stopped posting under some names.  And start taking notes about what name you post certain comments so you don't repeat the same thing under two or more names

You and your "aka's" have never been signed on at the same time, and since the timing has proven your various names are one and the same person, you have hidden all your names being on.

You forget under what name you post.

And since I challenged Glry to provide proof about the "fair share of taxes" comment when assessment grievance is NOT taxes, but rather proerty value, then since under your Glry name you can't dispute anything I say, you sign on under another name just for the sake of posting some kind of response....because you just can't accept the FACT that I state the TRUTH, and I provide the EVIDENCE.   And ALL THE EVIDENCE proves that property values have plummeted so much that homeowners have valid grievances and it is the dem puppets on the board of assessment that give an assinine response "insufficient data" even if someone got many appraisals and cited every single arm's length sale in the city.

"Insufficient evidence"-no? The same reason that the DEM morons give 99% of the time despite the fact that McCheese admitted assessment are 107% over market. So what is that is against State law-no? Meanwhile the new DEM assessment stooge has already resigned sighting "work conflicts". These DEM morons are a total joke. Even the hacks can't hack it anymore. Everyone is running from these City morons. Did you hear who the DEM "machine" is running against Senator Farley? How about against Senator Amedore? ROTFLMAO!!
