Were reported as having risen for the past three months.

Of course, that does NOT include the city of Schenectady where ALL THE EVIDENCE PROVES the prices are going DOWN DOWN DOWN faithfully every month with no end in sight

Also reported that vacancy rates are lower

But of course in the city of Schenectady, the vacancy rates are going UP UP UP as people flee the city in mass doves and there is no end in sight

Of course DV aka Glry aka Ham, etc, try to pretend everything is just "splendid" in the city while ignoring the problems.

Obviously he needs to learn that the solution to the problem is to face it.   Since taxes are almost the highest in the country, the solution is to lower them.   How to lower taxes?

1.  REMOVE the tax exemptions on the downtown millionaires and politically connected; make them pay the taxes based on their assessed value just like the financially struggling homeowners

2.  Increase the TAXABLE tax base by declaring the downtown properties (owned by millionaires and/or politically connected) to be taxable NOW (that means removing the tax exemptions.

3.  Eliminate the taxpayer funded cars for city employees which WILL cut costs.

4.  IMMEDIATELY order ALL city department heads to move INTO the city and pay the city taxes so they  can really understand how their departmental budgets  affect the average homeowner.

5.   Remove the  ILLEGAL STAR tax exemption held by Philip Morris who does NOT live in his city house and make him pay back the amount he didn't pay.   Same goes for Eric Ely who still owns his city house (yep, two years after he left the city, he STILL can't sell his house because NO ONE WANTS TO BUY A HOUSE IN THE CITY).

Since property values are plummeting  big time the solution is to try to get them to increase.   How?   By trying to get people to actually buy houses IN the city   How to get people to buy houses IN the city?   Read the paragraph above called "How to lower taxes"

.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Because of DEM insane taxes there's bottom to City resale prices. $1 is the going rate for Downtown renaissance property. The worst part is that Mayor McCheese and his 6 rubber stamps refuse to admit a overspending problem. They have tripled the deputy Mayor's salary, keeping adding to the DEM friends & family car plan, extended connected tax giveaways and are running the City jerks wife for State Senate. Even lifelong DEMS are saying we have a major problem in City Hall. Stratton, with all his partisanship, at least acted the part.
