Based on the news this morning, he's not going to appoint a new police chief when Chaires retired.

Mary McClaine, a heavily taxed homeowner in the city has been very outspoken--AND RIGHTFULLY SO, during privilege of the floor at council meetings, about how the dems allow city employees to live outside the city, especially the top brass in all departments.  And of course, we, so-called "nayboobs", have been also complaining about these horrible truths about the city

It is TOTALLY UNCONSCIONABLE for city employees, particularly department heads, to live outside the city, but the dems have allowed it, they are all too willing to allow the highest paid city employees to avoid pay city taxes, the dems have been all to willing to hike taxes on the financially struggling homeowners, to pay lavish salaries and benefits to city employees--and the dems are willing to do this EVEN WHEN IT MEANS THE HOMEOWNERS WILL LOSE THEIR HOMES!!!

But perhaps with the "whining" of the "nayboobs" who are proving that the dems are wrong, maybe McC sees that we are right, that we have been telling the truths about the city (high taxes which continue to increae, home values plummeting, no one wants to buy a house IN the city, existing city residents fleeing the city in great masses, crime increasing, unemployment increasing).

Now, let's see if any of the three asst chiefs, the only onces who could be promoted, let's see if any of them would be willing to move INTO the city.   Bets anyone?

Anyone who complains about or refuses to pay their taxes IS a nayboob -- Schenectady offers one of the highest qualities of life in the region -- and it economy is undergoing perhaps the greatest Renaissance in the NorthEast --- so Mary McCLain and others can GFT.. The MAYOR is doing a SPLENDID JOB..   Anyone else who says differently is simply full of doggy doo.

Say mcmayor hires a resident from the city for the chief's position.
2 years later the new chief wants to move. Does the chief lose his job?

Only asking cause when a sch'dy fireman is hired....or even a cop.....they have to have a city of schenectady address. One year after they are hired, they can move about freely to where ever they want to. We know 2 cops and 2 firemen who did exactly that.

I would have to assume this will be the same for the chief's position.

All smoke and mirrors?

Go figure.

So, financially struggling homeowners should not complain about their taxes?   You mean they should just go merrily along, pay the taxes of the downtown millionaires and not say a word, huh?

Guess the financially struggling homeowners should go with taking medication and not complain that their taxes are causing them to cut out life saving medication --- just as long as the city employees can avoid paying taxes while getting paid well over $100,000 a year while the homeowners have typical HOUSEHOLD incomes of $37,000 (2010 census) and yet they should be paying one third of their income in property taxes, right?

So let's hear you---you---YOU ROITTERDAM TOWN PLANNING BOARD MEMBER RON -- tell us when the total HOUSEHOLD incomes of people in the city is not much over $30,000 per year, and the total annual tax bills are $8,000 per year, you have the NEVER to say that people should not complain about the taxes?

Ron are you saying that they should pay the taxes and go without food or medicine ????

How do you arrive at your statement that people REFUSE to pay taxes when the FACT is that many have no money left to pay the taxes of the downtown millionaires?????

Yep, typical Ron saying that the financially struggling homeowners in the city should happily pay the taxes of the millionaires downtown without cmplaint.

The poor must pay for the rich

The poor in the city whose cars are on their last leg and they can't afford a new one, should pay for lavish cars for lavishlyl paid city employees who CHOOSE to live far outside the city and drive taxpayer funded cars far far outside the city on daily pleasure rides.

The poor in the city must continue to pay city employees that live outside the city because they know taxes are too high an it's too dangerous, and the quality of life sucks.   And you support McC in refusing to make city employees live IN the city.   Why is that?

Of course, you won't answer these questions.

Why fill the position at all?
Obviously we can get along well enough without one.

Glryinthhighest, I mean Ron, I mean dV, if the mayor is doing a "splendid" job, then tell us...

Why are home values in the city plummeting while others see theirs increase?

is it "splendid" that houses in the city are not selling?

Is it "splendid" that no one wants to buy a house IN the city?

Is it "splendid" that there is an overabundance of vacant houses in the city?

Is it "splendid" that homeowners are losing their homes to tax seizure --- NOT because the refuse to pay their taxes but because they don't have money to do so---because they cannot afford to pay the taxes of the downtown millionaires?

Is it "splendid" that homeowners pay almost the highest taxes in the country?

Is it "splendid" that the poor pay the taxes for the rich and politically connected downtown?

Is it "splendid" that Philip Morris is ILLEGALLY getting two STAR exemptions?

Is it "splendid" that the unemployment is the highest?

Is it "splendid" that crime is the highest?

Is it "splendid" that lavishly paid city employees can avoid paying the high taxes and live with a poor quality of life at the acceptance of the dems by living outside the city?

Answers????????    Of course not, you are much too embarrassed to answers these questions, as usual, because you have not a teeny weeny shred of evidence to prove me wront!

Metroplex will probably just rent one of these cops a loft for a $1 to get around the residency requirement.

When did McCheese say he will not fill this position? The current chief is a "lifelong City resident who resides in Scotia," in the immortal words of the Gazetto. Make the Commis chief and permanently abolish the Commis position. So what if he lives in Clifton Park-saves $300,000. Look for another DEM knucklehead like the Deputy Mayor or City jerk {whose wife is running for State Senate-lol} to be appointed.
