The American public is less likely to believe in global warming than it was just five years ago... (See GOP
Anti Science Campaign)
Yet, paradoxically, scientists are more confident than ever that climate change is real and
caused largely by human activities.

On FoxSnooze... Climate Change is a hoax...

But from SCIENCE...
About 97 percent of American scientists say that climate change is happening...
From the National Academy of Sciences:
"The consensus statement is that climate changes are being observed, are certainly real,
they seem to be increasing, and that humans are mostly likely the cause of all or most of these
changes."

FoxSnooze and the GOP, VS, the Best of US Science.  It appears those seeking facts will side with the
Science... those seeking validation of their political agenda, seem to side with FoxSnooze.

Three Weeks on Ice--Europe Cold Wave of 2012

Three weeks of bitter cold, exacerbated in some areas by deep falls of snow, have taken a heavy toll in central and eastern Europe.

The number of dead has topped 600, according to the Associated Press, with Russia, Ukraine and Poland suffering the highest losses.

A break in the extreme cold is beginning across the continent with no return to extreme cold in sight, AccuWeather.com meteorologists say.

Since Jan. 25, average temperatures have dipped 15, 20 and even 25 degrees F below normal over much of central and eastern Europe, including European Russia.

New record lows have been set, as the mercury has dipped as low as 40 degrees below zero.

In Kiev, Ukraine, three-week average temperature was only 4.7 degrees F, or 17 degrees below normal. The average reading of 0.7 degrees below zero F took Rivne to 20 degrees below normal.

The three weeks in Russia averaged 14 degrees F below normal in Moscow and almost 25 degrees below normal in Yashkul, near the Caspian Sea.

At least one all-time record low temperature may have been set when Astrakhan, Russia, hit 29 degrees below zero F early in February.

Results were dramatic in central Europe, with both Leipzig, Germany, and Warsaw, Poland, registering average temperatures about 17 degrees below normal throughout the cold wave.

For the rest of this week as well as the coming week, pockets of cold will persist in Europe, especially in areas of deep snowcover such as the Balkan Peninsula. However, the continent will not be subject to any new arctic outbreak of the kind that sparked the cold late in January.

An indisputable FACT:
16 of the last 17 years, have been the hottest years on record.

That is both a Republican and a Democrat fact.

Records are made to be broken

A warm or cool year means nothing in the overall picture.  Each are usually within the normal range of
a 10 or 20 year average.
But as I posted above,
In the past year 35,000 daily records have been broken.

Global Climate Change is happening and acknowledged in the scientific world...
it's only in the political world where there is doubt.

Its not really that impressive considering how long the records have been kept or how accurate the early records were, for all we know this could be a normal cycle that occurs every 3-4 hundred years. Even if that was the case it would be nothing compared to the massive changes this Earth endured over the millions of years, ice age etc.  One thing that definitely isn't sold is if it is man made, the biggest concern is blowing trillions of dollars and pushing outrageous regulations to combat something we might not even have control of.

Yea... supposed we cleaned up the air, water, and earth... we made the earth a much better place to
live... that'd suck huh?

There is no Scientific debate about Global Climate Change... tens of thousands of scientists agree on
climate change and it's probable cause.   There is only political debate.  The science is
accurate and accepted... the political will to act on those facts is where the debate exists.

Maybe Obama should lead by example, maybe start by stopping the millions of tons of bombs and depleted uranium being used under his command. If this is man made I'm sure this alone would knock a dent in it.

On this we agree, but you better get your Military/Industrial Conservatives who profit from this system
to agree, or Obama will need millions to counter the Koch Bros and their associates opposition.
Bombs are Big Business... and those in the business of War, own many of those who make those
decisions.
