this is just freakin' interesting.....

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Interesting indeed because the electorate didn't want this candidate BUT WE HAVE HIM ON OUR PAYROLL NOW ANYWAY !!    That is the Democratic process in Rotterdam...we give the people a choice and if they don't comply, the candidate gets shoved down our throat anyway!

Part-time at $30k serves a purpose...State Law says if he earns more than $30k then he has to suspend the retirement payments while earning that salary.
So HB saying it was evaluated that someone could od the job as part-time was BS so that he could do what he did with appt for the reasons shown.

JUST BECAUSE SISSY SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO...BUT HE THINKS IT DOES!!!!!

How much of that $30K will end up right back in the Democrat Party war chest?

It would be more miraculous to open the eyes of a non-believer Roman Orator

Here's the deal as I understand it.
If HB wanted to sign a waiver and submit to State for approval, then VR could draw his pension plus his pay with no limit.
If a retiree wants to make a full salary and pension, his employer must make a case to the New York State Civil Service Commission for a waiver.
Without a waiver, VR can earn up to $30k annual without effect on his pension.
Earning more than $30k requires he freeze his pension.
State law allows a retiree to collect both without a waiver if they are older than 65 years old.

There was recent case "North Syracuse to get new police chief because mayor wouldn't sign 'double-dipping' waiver".  Past 2 administrations (Mayor) signed waivers, and Chief was recieving $58,574 a year pension and was paid $79,693 annually to be police chief. New Mayor didn't sign waiver...he said “If there are people out there who don’t require a waiver, that’s who you’re supposed to hire,” Atkinson said. “That’s my interpretation of what a waiver is.” Result was that he has recieved resumes from multiple applicants qualifed and interested in the job.

not how it works here in Rotterdam...........to be eligible for a position in town you must:

a.) be a member of the family and friends club
b.) care little or nothing for the residents who you are supposed to be serving
c.) be willing to skirt laws and town codes in an effort to garner more votes ie; ignore town code as it pertains to the placement of political signs because "everyone does it"
d.) show extreme favoritism in regards to town codes in exchange for a party flip flop
