OH MY GOD! THE SAFETY OF OUR CITY IS WONDERFUL! IT IS NOT A WAR ZONE, VISITOR. RIGHT?

Quoted Text

SCHENECTADY — Schenectady Police arrested a woman today in connection with a burglary that occured this morning at the Union College president’s house.

Darlene D. Verruto, 57, of Saratoga Springs, kicked in the front door of the house at 9:36 a.m., according to a press release.

Verruto entered the residence, chased the president and his family upstairs, and then fought with security guards when they attempted to arrest her, injuring one of them.

Verruto is charged with burglary in the first degree, as well as assault in the second degree, criminal mischief in the second degree, and resisting arrest — a class B felony, two class D felonies, and a class A misdemeanor, respectively.

Verruto is being held at the Schenectady Police Department in preparation for an afternoon arraignment.

The president and his family were not injured during the incident. There is no known affiliation between Verruto and Union College, and the reason behind the incident remains under investigation.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Wouldn't it be nice if the average homeowner in the city had such service from the SPD, heck, the SPD doesn't even want to come out to peoples's homes anymore!

Such great service for a non-taxpayer

Union College is OBVIOUSLY a dangerous element in the City AND a danger to City residents -- thus they need to pay a sizable public safety fee in order for our wonderful young men and women in uniform to continue protecting them..   This crime would NOT have occurred had it NOT been for the presence of Union College within the City limits.   Perhaps Mr. Ainly should reconsider his opposition to Union College doing the RIGHT thing --- and start PAYING taxes!

How about this:

1.   The city STOP the wild spending on downtown.

2.   The millionaires downtown pay their taxes.

3.   Philip Morris has his ILLEGAL STAR exemption taken way

?

Unlike Proctor's, Union College paid a Stratton Fair Share Pilot and fixed up a neighborhood without screwing the oppressed County taxpayers. Union College is the jewel of Schenectady. The Nott Memorial is one of the finest architectural gems in the Nation. The fact that even lower Union Street is now unsafe because of DEM incompetence reflects only on the current joke administration. The State needs to clean out the DEM nit wits/hacks and install a State Control Board to administer City affairs. It's obvious that the current DEM morons can't do the job.

One of the last viable neighborhoods near Downtown is Seward. If Union College never invested millions in that street or the old Ramada, the City would have yet ANOTHER run down neighborhood and the old Ramada would have been a multi-level crack den.

Union College is the only reason why a 20-something would even VENTURE into this City. It's the last hope left in this City.

Well, looks like even Morris wants to move...talks of Proctors buying UPH (Universal Preservation Hall) in Saratoga. Maybe he can move his, Johnsons and Peerazos offices out to Saratoga...no one will steal a safe out there?
