A U.S. Navy drone flying out of Patuxent River Naval Air Station crashed Monday after operators lost contact with the aircraft, NBC News reported.
There are reports that the drone was targeting a high level Al Qaeda agent, however a computer glitch caused the mission to fail. The drone was attempting to locate a known Al Qaeda sympathizer, code named "CICERO" who operates from the Upstate NY area.
It was reported that a second drone was launched tonight to complete the mission.
