DVOR - You get me wrong. I could care less about political bent. But in this case, it has nothing to do with politics. Hell, I'd even agree with you had it been a case of the city not issuing these guys a permit. But that's not the case. This whole thing has to do with vets aging and dying. And fewer of the new ones jumping in to support the organizations that put on parades like this. It's a huge undertaking that a lot of people simply don't have the time or the effort to endeavor. I'm all for calling a spade a spade. But in this case, you're calling a shovel a deck of cards.

YOU sir -- are a horses A*S! Furthermore you are a LIAR. You spew virulent Right - Wing talking points and constantly knock our Town Leaders when you should be building the UP.

Actually, I was intentionally making a ludicrous argument to show how ludicrous MOST (BUT NOT ALL) of the attacks on Democrats that are made on this website.

I am well aware of the difficulty of continuing these annual Memorial Day traditions.  As a member of a parish that has carried on an annual Memorial Day Field Mass at our cemetery since shortly after 1945, it is clear that the number of WWII veterans are dropping off rapidly although it is quite heartening to see growing participation by Vietnam-Era, Gulf War and War on Terrorism veterans.  It is interesting that few public office holders attend even when invited -- but I have to applaud Assemblymen Tedisco and Amedore and County Legislator Santabarbara for CONSISTENTLY attending this annual event.

One other observation, I find it a bit questionable that participants have to be paid such large sums of money to take part in a community parade.  I can see a modest stipend to off set transportation costs for school bands but nothing more.

First of all, YOU were the one who started this thread "attacking" republicans in relation to the parade so your first sentence is not valid.

The other two paragraphs, I can agree.

You may be surprised to discover that you do NOT have the power to decide what is valid or not; or what an another person's intention were.  You may be similarly surprised to learn that most people couldn't give a crap what your opinion is on any subject.

Were you surprised when you realized (or have you) that nobody gives a crap what your opinion is on ANY subject?

I generally do not post opinions.   I post FACTS.    And I provide EVIDENCE.

So let's see your EVIDENCE that "most people...." my "opinion....."     Well?    Actually, the EVIDENCE proves that most people agree with me, but then, I speak the TRUTH.

You, however, claim you say things that are true, yet you REFUSE to provide ANY EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER to prove the things you say.

You've said that the truth is the county tax rates are lower than they were in the 1950's.   Gee, DV, obviously THAT was your PERSONAL and PRIVATE OPINION and NOT the truth as you have ABSOLUTELY REFUSED to provide any proof whatsoever of your statement.   So, DV, have you found any evidence to support that statement you made?    Huh???

And the FACT is that MOST people WILL agree with ME--that the comments you make are not fact at all, but just your wild imagination.   And MOST people WILL agree with ME that your wild imagination is extended to all your imaginary friends that also make comments without providing any EVIDENCE.

So, when are you going to move into Schenectady city that you claim is in a renaissance but which you REFUSE to respond to question about the effect of the wild spending on the TAXABLE tax value, what effect it has had on the property values, what effect it has had on the tax BILLS, what effect it has had on the quality of life for the people in the neighborhoods, what effect it has had on the desire for people to continue living IN the city.

Actually, DV. you have provided one piece of proof to support your statements.   After all your comments about the city is improved, it's in this renaissance, you have actually provided the proof that it is not the case because your total refusal to even rent in the city, and and the FACT that you are totally avoiding buying a house IN the city, even with the handouts provided by your McC buddy, is PROOF POSITIVE that you know that the city really is not in a renaissance at all.   And that is not my opinion, that is FACT -- a FACT which can be proven 100%.
