Didn't that eventually become DeLorenzo's property? (across from Mohon)

It's actually the end of the Curry Rd / Altamont Ave / Stuart St. triangle (that is now blocked off, Stuart St. meets Curry Rd behind Bagels and Bakes).

Special use permit under consideration for this location, 7/17/1975 - http://news.google.com/newspap.....+rotterdam&hl=en

Where was Hamils gas station in the town? I remember (barely) gas being at 29 cents reg and 33 cents premium.
I was like 6 years old the. I want to say it was on the corner of guilderland and vischer aves...but the picture in my mind does line up with the map.

Cumberland farms on Guilderland ave used to be Ed Hamil's station. He also had one down next to Elsie's diner on Campbell rd, before the mall was built. The buildings were bright orange. Across the street from the Guilderland Ave shop was the quarter car wash where the Pizza place now is. (Formerly Sorrento's)

He had racks of used oil that he ran through a strainer and resold it back in glass bottles with metal funnels on them.

This from January 2, 1958:

Gas Station Is Burglarized In Rotterdam

Rotterdam police are investigating a service station burglary reported yesterday morning.

Edward Hamil, proprietor of a service station on Campbell Road, told authorities that his service station had been broken into during the night and a 12 volt auto battery stolen. He said that an attempt to open a cigaret machine failed.

Lieutenant Joseph Dominelli and Detective Paul E. Fabian, who are conducting the investigation, said that the building was entered by breaking a pane of glass in a side window.

and since it was your suggestion I think you should of at least set some parameters...................time, place etc....................keeping in mind that I'm old, don't move too fast, don't drive at night, don't drink, don't drink and drive, go to bed between 9:30 and 10 pm, don't like being around crowds of people anymore, can be an unpleasant curmudgeon.........................

I'm here till the first weekend in June, unfortunately .. but it'd be nice to get to meet yall.

We might be able to get together here - we can do it around dinner time to keep the old folks home in time for their bedtime.

I'll try to come up with a couple date ideas and pm yall.  If anyone else wants to come, pm me
