http://www.bizjournals.com/albany/print-edition/2012/05/11/bumpys-ice-cream-business-in.html

Bumpy’s Polar Freeze in Schenectady is on the market for $269,000.

David Byrnes and Theresa Byrnes are selling their seasonal ice cream and fast-food business at 2013 State St. after operating it for 16 years.

Hope whoever (if anyone) buys it keeps it the same.

I mean, aren't people beating down the doors to get into business in Schenectady?

Another 'non-metroplex' businesses closing?

I thought that the METROPLEX/GILLEN funded Mohawk Commons was going to bring 'foot traffic' and would boost the surrounding businesses and lower property taxes.....no? Is this yet another METROPLEX/GILLEN success??

I also noticed while driving through on Hamburg St. today that the ice cream shop that was closed for so long next door to the Senior Center that re-opened last year under new management never opened this year.  Business must have just been so awesome last year that the new owners retired already.  Either that, or the issues in this town made it too expensive for them to continue.

ongoing renaissance with all the slick deals the hamburg street leaders made. They needed Tommasone out and now what. Maybe a 'central dispatch?'

Metrograft was supposedly to create jobs and stabilize property values. Complete failure-no? Woodlawn is in free fall like every neighborhood with Metrograft taxes on top of insane DEM clown posse property taxes and fees. Thank you Bumpy's owners. You have suffered enough under these anti-business regimes. Continued success down South where DEM morons don't implode every level of government.
