U.S. to run first surplus since 2008: CBO

(MarketWatch) — The U.S. government recorded a budget surplus of $58 billion in April, the Congressional
Budget Office estimated on Monday, breaking a streak of deficits that began in 2008.

The surplus  was the result of both increased tax collection and lower government spending.
Before April, the government had not run a surplus since September 2008, the month that the
Bush Economic Meltdown struck the U.S. economy.

Prosperity??? OF COURSE NOT!  It will take a lot longer to cure the Bush Economic Meltdown and a lot more
effort on the part of the president and Democrats to get the economy out of the ditch and back on the road
to recovery.
Possibly once this election is over, and Obama reelected for another 4 years, the Republicans may actually
do something to help the recovery... but I doubt it.

He just got another update from Oblamer on how to handle the lack of any positive things to say about his record in office. We're back to it's Bush's fault.
