The following is from PEARL HARBOR CHRISTMAS, A World At War, December 1941 written by Stanley Weintraub. In PEARL HARBOR CHRISTMAS the following was noted; Corporations (1%) wanted "guaranteed' profits" or immediate conversion to wartime production would not occur. The war effort would be damaged. The unions (99%) wanted guarantees that their right to organize & the union ability to discourage non union workers from being hired would be upheld. Radical union people in places like San Francisco & Australia were adamant. While thousands of brave soldiers, marines & sailors perished in places like Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore & Wake Island, Australian union thugs would not load or offload ships unless their demands were met. Less we forget the ego maniacs in government who wanted their peachy positions preserved. Looks like 2012 to me. During the Vietnam War, whatever your opinion of that waste of precious resources, Harry Bridges, a longshoreman on the West Coast, an Australian Communist, stopped the loading of war materials on to ships. There is a not so mysterious link between unions & 'The Internationale". Connect the dots. Unions, corporations, Republicans, Democrats, etc. none of these people realized the terror that awaited the world in the form of Imperial Nippon or The Third Reich. If 'we' lost the game would be over. America is in this position again & the people with power are more about preserving their power than what is good for America. Global terrorism is a logical extension of the "great twilight struggle" that we have been engaged since 1945. When you see unions, corporations & partisan politicians change their tone then you will know we have turned the corner & our survival is guaranteed. The struggle seems more important that the results. America is locked into a struggle mind set. This mind set will bring US down if we do not mend our ways. |
