McCarthy is proving once again he is incapable of budgeting, does not understand basic economics and can't make ANY cuts. The State Comptroller must takeover from these DEM morons. SCHENECTADY — Days after Mayor Gary McCarthy revealed the city ended 2011 with a $5 million deficit, a City Council committee meeting slated for Monday night will apparently go on with little or no discussion about the city's dire fiscal circumstance.
When do they plan on discussing the 2011 deficit? In 2021?

They are discussing legislation to require all dog owners to carry renters insurance (to pay for the costs of anyone bitten by a dog). He, don't get me wrong, I think such a law IS needed. HOWEVER, at the moment, the city's $5 MILLION huge financial crisis (that DV's imaginary friend calls "minor") should be the highest priority and NOTHING should be discussed until they come up with details to how they are going to resolve this. EVERYTHING the dems have done in the past 8 years has caused this MAJOR BIG TIME crisis. Spend spend spend like there's no tomorrow, just hike the taxes on the financially struggling homeowners who can no longer afford it.
Ham aka DV, when are YOU buying a house in the city you claim is so great, with great dems and just a "minor" little crisis? Of course, he won't answer because he knows that WE are telling the TRUTH. Erickson wants to tax beyond the Cuomo tax cap. Brucker wants to buy more City vehicles. Poterfield is hiding in the tall grasses looking for a REP to blame. Rotsa Ruck. 37 years of DEM moron spending, borrowing and tax giveaways have produced this McCarthy/DEM scandal. Even the Gazetto is demanding answers-lead of get out of the way. Fire someone/end the City vehicle charade/stop funding every nonprofit/demand a PILOT from Proctors/ wake up and smell the State audit.
The city is a sh!thole that is getting deeper and darker!!! If they are stupid enough (and they appear to be) to raise taxes, fees or suggest 'dog insurance fines'.......the city will SERIOUSLY become a ghost town.
We were with some folks tonight that don't even live in schenectady county.......and they were laughing and shaking their head in disbelief at the city's leadership and commenting on what a mess the city is in!!! AND THEY ARE DEMS!!! They actually said that if they lived in the city of schenectady, they would NEVER vote for a democrat!! They said they would have voted for Hull!! Sweet, huh?

This isn't about Democrats or Republicans. This is about stupid people voting in stupid people. Gary's plan has some validity but everything has to happen perfectly to pay off. We cant wait another 24 to 30 months to see something happen. Moodys will and is obligated to downgrade the citys debt. It will be crippling. The next big squeeze Gary plans will be recycling. Water and sewer use will skyrocket due to washing out the containers. Projected savings will be lost.
