Boxy must have found some website with these numbers on it, and as usual is spewing it as fact, when he hasn't even taken the time to review it.  The issue comes up with the listings that are on here, and ironically, if Box had reviewed it, he/she would be even HAPPIER that business is booming in NY, as we would actually be 15th.  I mean, unless you're going to count all the states in the US with the exception of those that are already broken out on this list.  I'm assuming this, as the US would still be #1, excluding California, Texas and NY, but I can't see how any of the other 47 states are going to come up higher on that list.

As far as your note that... "If NY State were a country," would you just do yourself a favor before you look more like an idiot and look up the definition of the word state.  I even bolded and made bigger the appropriate definition of the word for you to consider.  IF New York were a country.  LOL

And congratulations, you now know what the GDP is.  Now, what is the NDP (you know, after costs, i.e. taxes, labor, etc.)?

Again, the nayboobs prove THEMSELVES to be ignorant and uninformed  -- they can't even comprehend avery simple  "what if scenario".   The fact is that states like New York, California and Texas do  have large economies that IN FACT are larger than most nations or countries on earth.

Once again Box -- you did a great job presenting the TRUTH.

These states benefit from a unified U.S. Dollar and federal subsidies.  If New York, California had to fund their own governments without federal money and minted their own currency and pegged it against other nations, we may very well find out they are Greece and Spain.

If the RED Welfare States, who take more US tax dollars than they give, would leave the USA,
states like NY would benefit by no longer having to suppport them with NY produced tax dollars.
I'm not advocating that Red States leave the union, I'm just pointing out that NY would be better
off financially with out carrying  Red States welfare programs on our backs, while taking care of our
own welfare needs.

You are making the assumption that the businesses that are being crushed by the cost of supporting the governemnts in California and New York don't get up and move their businesses to States with smaller governments and lower tax burden.

The only reason GlobalFoundries is opening up in New York State is because of the very generous taxpayers giving the Abu Dhabi governement owned company $1 Billion.

You make my case for me... NY supports the Red States Welfare Programs, as well as NY's.  WE PAY FOR
REPUBLICAN RED STATES AS WELL AS OUR OWN.
If the Red States paid their own way, NY business as well as NY taxpayers would get a break in our taxes.

We found some common ground.  Let's agree that we should abolish the federal income tax to keep New Yorker's from funding welfare in Republican controlled states.  We'll teach those dirty red staters a lesson.  If only Lincoln let those southern states leave the union, we wouldn't have to deal with them.

Republicans aren't against 'entitlements'... Republicans in Red States LOVE Entitlements... they just want
the Blue states to pay for them.

Yes...You identified the problem.  GREAT! I offer the solution.  Don't let the federal government take money from your labor to pay for Red State welfare.  Let the Red States fund their own welfare.  GREAT IDEA ISN'T IT BOX?

the objective of most humans is to get someone else to do for us free what we would otherwise have to do for ourselves, hence our food supply system, our
energy system etc etc......

and if it isn't free we're going to talk about how the government 'does it' and pretend it's free

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

NY RANKED LAST???
LOL!, Hardly!

A new study finds that Americans living in the Northeast have more economic opportunity to move up the
ladder, with Maryland, New York, and New Jersey topping the list as the states with the highest
mobility rankings.
Nine states in the South, including Texas and Florida, have worse economic mobility rates than the
national average.

The states with the highest mobility rankings are Maryland, New York and New Jersey. During the
10-year period studied, residents there were more likely to have experienced stronger income growth
and to have raised their economic standing relative to other Americans. People in those states were
also less likely to be downwardly mobile.
Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Utah also scored well.

Take Wall st out of the mix and what do you find?

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Uh, DV, would you care to explain what has happened to the city of Schenectady?   Why aren't you responding to any threads about the just announced terrible financial crisis that the city is in?   Huh?

Are you too embarrassed now that you have been proven wrong?

It is obvious that the nayboobs are suffering from some mental disorder --- They hate Schenectady and New York State .. yet they stay here.   They get some perverse pleasure out of whining and complaining and bashing.

My message to them -- quit your complaining or take a hike.

So, DV, in other words, taxpayers must NEVER question their government, must never question how their money is spent.   Obviously you have become a communist because citizens in communist countries are not allowed to complain, question, or bash.

Quite obvious, you need to move to China, perhaps North Korea, you would probably be given a prominent place in government there, and a lavish place to live courtesy of the citizens that the commies exploit.
