Recently, I met Schenectady Mayor Gary R. McCarthy at an event. I asked him who to contact at City Hall to get white arrows painted at the intersection of Seward Place and Union Street. He pulled out his business card and told me to e-mail him and that he would forward it to the correct person. Within a week, the arrows on Seward and Union were painted. Now that impressed me. I consider myself an Independent — no party affiliation — but the bottom line for me these days is this: I don’t care which party you’re in, I want the person who gets the job done, who cares about Schenectady and wants to make it a great city. I do think Mayor McCarthy cares, and I think he’s doing a good job.

WOW!! This just goes to show how out of touch some schenectadians are!!! They praise 'painted road arrows' while their taxes and crime are out of sight!! And they are so thankful for 'road arrows' that they actually write about it!! OMG!!
