(CNN) -- Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy signed a bill into law Wednesday that abolishes the death
penalty, making his state the 17th in the nation to abandon capital punishment and the fifth in five
years to usher in a repeal.
The law is effective immediately, though prospective in nature, meaning that it would not apply to
those already sentenced to death. It replaces the death penalty with life in prison without the possibility
of release as the state's highest form of punishment.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

they will drag us all to a death worse than death row and the motto will be "at least your alive"...that's after we have our realID equipped with GPS/our number ie"rating"
healthcare info etc, all run by homeland security and the patriot act...

aaaahhhhh the utopian commune dreamed about in the 60's.....free living and free love----all for the state

remember remember the 5th of November 9/11......

yeah for America...that dream dreamed by other nations.....despite all the rage I am still just a rat in a cage......

feel safe/free?

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

STOP BEING GOOD DEMOCRATS---STOP BEING GOOD REPUBLICANS--START BEING GOOD AMERICANS

Even when NYS had a death penalty fairly recently, it was never used.
It's a waste of time, and vast amounts of money because NYS hasn't executed a single soul since 1963.
I just want to see one episode of Law & Order where D.A. says "confess, and we'll take the death penalty off the table", and the prisoner just laughs, and shares that seldom mentioned fact with them.

I'm not against the death penalty in certain circumstances, but in NYS, and California, it's a joke.
California has over 700 people on death row, and they only execute a few per year, so even with the ultimate penalty imposed, it's still more than likely that they'll die of old age.
