rehabbing that building is like polishing a turd..
I know because I worked in that building for 5 years when Schenectady International owned it. The building was originally built for 3M when they supported GE in its heyday. That building, at least when I worked there, was LOADED with Asbestos. Add to that, the storage of all sorts of chemicals over the years all add up to big fun in the "future health down the road" area. Those buildings are environmental disasters and should have been torn down instead of rehabbed and occupied.

Wasn't it also supposed to be some kind of drug rehab many years ago as well?
I think it ended up with the "program" director being arrested.

But Death Ray is a rehab expert. Everything he touches has to be rehabbed in a couple years. But this of course is "happening in every Northeast City"-lol. No County in the nation is as poorly administered as Schenectady County. Keeping re-election these DEM implosion experts. Implode everything while lining their pockets.

The DEM working together crew has addressed their latest scandal! They have fixed nothing and refused to admit any problem {as usual}. They built a metal enclosure so workers and the people are not killed by falling stucco from Death Ray's rehab. Another eyesore that looks like a bomb shelter. Still waiting for the Gazetto expose on more County DEM incompetence. Experts say that a mesh screen was not applied beneath the stucco and the whole front is in danger of collapse. Like the rest of the City with these "leaders". Of course Death Ray who has zero rehab/planning expertise saw nuthing.

Falling facade spurs action
Schenectady County looking for solution to peeling stucco at its new social services building

By Lauren Stanforth
Published 10:55 p.m., Sunday, July 29, 2012

SCHENECTADY — It was only three years ago that the county took over an old factory building on Broadway and renovated it to use as its Department of Social Services building.

But now the stucco facade is falling off, so much so that orange construction fencing had to be erected to keep the stucco from hitting people below.

The county says only the building's owner, developer The Galesi Group, can fix it. Schenectady County spokesman Joe McQueen said when the first chunks came off some time ago, Galesi decided to do an engineering study to determine why the facade was crumbling. The stucco has been peeling off to reveal the original brick wall underneath. The problem has gotten precipitously worse in the last few weeks.

"As soon as our first piece came down, we roped off the areas," McQueen said. "It's a great building. It was surprising when it came down."......................>>>>...............>>>>................Read more: http://www.timesunion.com/local/article/Falling-facade-spurs-action-3745134.php#ixzz226RW8NQS

Nobody reads this board- lol. Where's the Gazetto on this latest Metrograft/DEM scandal? It was a great building until the County DEM morons "rehabbed" it. Your Metrograft team at "work". Spend another million to determine why wire meshing as required by City code was not utilized. Only in Schenectady County. Another victory lap for truth.

We don't see alot of the truth lately do we?

Only in Schenectady would the County lease a $16 million rat hole. Kinda' like the rest of Schenectady isn't it?

Take a good look folks....when the ALCO condos facade starts falling off and contaminating the Mohawk that little lightbulb of a reactor is going to be the LEAST of the City's problems.

This is no surprise

And just remember, you heard it FIRST from the, uh, "nayboobs" as DV/Glry like to call us.   DV aka Glry REFUSE to acknowledge that WE tell the TRUTH, that WE provide the EVIDENCE of and about the misuse of taxpayers' money.    And of course, as this DSS project is just more evidence of mis-use of taxpayers' money and giving it to the DEMS political cronies, DV aka Glry REFUSE to comment.   Or, he doesn't know how bad the building is because, despite what he says, he doesn't come anywhere near the city.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Why would they do a study?  It's obvious that it all needs to come down to correct the issue.

Obviously the nayboobs know NOTHING about construction..  This building is in excellent restored condition and there is no threat to the wonderful staff and workforce that works there from hazardous contamination ---- nor is there a threat to the individuals who go there for much-needed assistance from our County. I know it is difficult to function as severely mentally handicapped individuals -- yet repeated mischaracterization of this situation is nothing more than criminal slander of one of the finest businesses in our County, and one which is responsible for bring nothing but GOOD to our taxpayers......

Your use of Excellent is suspect.  If you mean as in the same excellent condition that your health and face is then I understand.

You have been warned..... The transcript of your slander against the County, the developer, and the Galesi group is no doubt --- being recorded in a court house or Police Department somewhere.
