Does Schenectady even have a city engineer? I took a look at DSS, and it's obvious that the job wasn't done correctly in the first place. There is no anchoring for the stucco. It's not paint, or even texture paint you morons, at least attach some mesh, or at least some chicken wire first!
It's as if they thought that just slapping some mud over the brick would last or something. I seem to recall some controversy that was building was leased for something like $14mil, rather than owned outright by the city.
If that's so, why isn't the landlord fixing it? It looks like hell.
So does anyone know who the "mason" was who did this "job"?

Do I remember hearing or reading that the school district was not going to use the old St Adelbert's school building? Or maybe it was just a proposal to stop using it in connection with the budget stuff.
Since the DSS building is obviously having problems, I'm sure the renaissance would be best served if DV proposes using the old St Adalbert's chool as the DSS location, yes? Maybe get those people doing a little walking (up a hill from the bus stop) instead of having the luxury of taxpayer subsidized transportation right to the door to collect their welfare money.

Then once the old dss building becomes filled to the brim with these 'undesirable'...they move it as far away, from the city that once lured them in, as they can. A 'hand picked' developer gets to purchase the building on broadway for 'how much'? And then leases to the city for 'how much'?
And now the building that is home to the 'undesirables' is falling apart and looks like sh!t.....they turn a blind eye.
And why? Cause they all lined their pockets, continue to make their millions and don't give a sh!t anymore!
