Hostile Workplace

Female employees in the Obama White House make considerably less than their male colleagues, records show.

According to the 2011 annual report on White House staff, female employees earned a median annual salary of $60,000, which was about 18 percent less than the median salary for male employees ($71,000).

Calculating the median salary for each gender required some assumptions to be made based on the employee names. When unclear, every effort was taken to determine the appropriate gender.

The Obama campaign on Wednesday lashed out at presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney for his failure to  immediately endorse the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Restoration Act, a controversial law enacted in 2009 that made it easier to file discrimination lawsuits.

President Obama has frequently criticized the gender pay gap, such as the one that exists in White House.

“Paycheck discrimination hurts families who lose out on badly needed income,” he said in a July 2010 statement. “And with so many families depending on women’s wages, it hurts the American economy as a whole.”

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

Not true Cicero... You really don't understand do you.

Look at Bimbo Palin... she made millions with no brains, and a 3rd place in the Miss Alaska Pageant.

Why do women make 18% less than men in his White House then?  If they are not bimbo's what could it be?

I'm surprised that you assume that Bimbo's make less... often Bimbos make more.

There could be many reasons why women in one firm would make less or more than others.  The type of job,
the number of hours worked, the length of experience on that job.
BUT
A women who has the exact same job as a man, and has the same experience and qualifications will make
the same as a man in that job... at a corporation or at the White House.
(But you already know that don't you Cic)

Oh, I get it, Obama hires women for the lower paying jobs.  Women are hired as low level staffers to fetch coffee for the high level positions the men hold.  Waitress is an important job.

Who holds the lower paying jobs in the White House??? I don't know.  One of the most powerful jobs in
the White House is held by a woman... Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

She wasn't good enough for your party to nominate as your presidential candidate.  Even though she had MUCH more experience in the executive branch and government.  Obama didn't even offer VP.  No war on women in the Democrat Party, women know their roles in that party.  Like Lewinski, she understood her role.

Cic is posting out of his butt again... (though he does make more sense that way)
OK Cicero... here are the facts... as of 2010...
13 Democratic women U.S. senators, vs. 4 Republicans
56 Democratic women House of Reps. members, vs. 17 Republicans
3 Democratic women Governors, 3 Republican women Governors
4 Democratic women Attorneys General, vs. 0 Republican women A.G.’s>
50 Democratic women holding statewide office in the U.S., vs. 21 Republican women
70.5 percent of women state senators are Democrats, vs. 27.2 percent Republicans
70.3 percent of women state legislators are Democrats, vs. 29.4 percent Republicans

See the GOP War on Women is very effective.

So tell me again Cic... What was it you were saying about Women in the Democrat party???
(Cic is now hiding his face in imbarrassment)

Good idea Cic... when you look at the number of women who hold office in the two parties... you'd better
stick with Monica.
The GOP now has less support from women than they did in 2008.  If they can't fix the GOP anti women
problem, they won't stand a chance in November.
