Planning Rotterdam’s fiscal future Five-year forecast calls for town reduce fund balance usage By John Purcell As of Monday, April 9, 2012 -10:31 p.m.
#ROTTERDAM — One thing appears to be a certainty: budgets aren’t going to get any easier for Rotterdam in the near future.
#Town Comptroller Jacqueline Every and financial consultant John Paolino presented a Five Year Financial Forecast for the town covering 2013-17 2017 during a Town Board meeting on Wednesday, March 28.
#A budget timeline was also proposed that calls for initial budget preparations to start Monday, April 9, and a 2013 Tentative Budget to be filed on Sept. 28. Paolino said the five-year period was selected because financial data becomes significantly less valid beyond five years.
#The projection aims to provide solid statistics and figures, but Paolino said the document will need to change over time.
#“This is a living document — it is going to change,” Paolino said.
#The projections say the town’s assessed property values will remain level, with homestead totaling $1.8 billion and non-homestead totaling around $700 million. Paolino admitted there has been some growth in town, but added there are some “major” tax litigations pending.
#Supervisor Harry Buffardi said the town is facing a tax certiorari issue and property assessment challenge with General Electric that will be “very difficult.” GE is the largest taxpayer in the town, Buffardi said, with around 75 percent of its local plant property within Rotterdam. The assessed value of GE is currently around $141 million, with $3 million exempt for their own water and sewage and snow plowing, according to Buffardi...................>>>>..........................>>>>>>...........................................http://www.spotlightnews.com/news/2012/apr/09/planning-rotterdams-fiscal-future/
Really? I thought everything would be fine if we just elected them as a complete block?
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
No - you got that wrong ... the complete blockheads elected them ... you just got the words backwards
blockheads elected by blockheads supported by dickhead(s).....................and the queen of hearts sez.........."Off with their heads!!!" both block and dick.........................
It's not true. It wasn't in the "official" newspaper, so this story is just unofficial until they read it here, change a few words, paint with a much broader brush and brighter colors, and republish it in the Gazette.
THIS WAS A PREDICTOR ....NO NEWS TO A LOT OF RESIDENTS.
BLOCKHEADS???
Former Supervisor Del Gallo TRIED to pass budgets TWO YEARS IN A ROW that would have reduced expenses......
and neither one was approved ..
Both overturned by the famous TB ... led by DILEVA...
So now you all eat crow....
and where in any municipality is there 3 deputies in the Clerk's office.....and for the population of Rotterdam....we each can have our own private clerk at our disposal...
And other waste in the Town's government. no one seems to question and if they do...there are no answers...
meetings in secret and plotting all the time....Yes, there are important issues but they seem to blow the smoke for the waste
that has and will occur.....
A SAD DAY WHEN IT WILL BE ANNOUNCED THAT ROTTERDAM IS BROKE.....as if it isn't already.
Get rid of the waste....close the Center or restructure it .....and get rid of all those that seem to think POWER is the answer.
So you don't like DiLeva or Marco .. is it a gender thing with you?
sheesh
Patches is correct! DiLeva blew TWO last minute budgets through at the midnight hour without giving the rotterdam taxpayers time to even think about it!!!
And by the way....perhaps rotterdamians can fill part of the budget gap with the hundreds of thousands of dollars owed to them from the rotterdam ambulance service....YES??????? Ya know, the monies that DiLeva counted on to help pay for her budget? And remember that Marco supported the rotterdam ambulance taxing district!!
Patches is dead on!!
When the INSANE are running the ASYLUM In individuals, insanity is rare; but in groups, parties, nations and epochs, it is the rule. -- Friedrich Nietzsche

The paper said last week the new drug store would pay another 75,000 in taxes. That would help too! Patches is correct! DiLeva blew TWO last minute budgets through at the midnight hour without giving the rotterdam taxpayers time to even think about it!!!
