Old movies, pre PC reveal values of the times past & sometimes contain pearls of wisdom.

One line in the movie THE CHALICE went as followed, "they mean to destroy us (Christians) & raise a false messiah".  I think we got that going on now here in the US.

The background in these old movies are stark in many instances & really clean.

America like all nations has had it's fill of messiah want to be's but this crew in the White House is something right out of the anti-Christ handbook.

Dial 666 & ask for Barack.

PS  My wife & I discussed THE CHALICE, she observed they seem to be all Jews.  Wrong, some were Greeks, gentiles.  Not long ago at a family function I was discussing the name Jesus, how it evolved from Zeus, no disrespect to Jesus & his uniqueness.  Immediately a bible toting, guitar playing in law popped up that was all wrong.  Jesus is Jesus, no gray areas.  I think more movies like THE CHALICE need to be made to educate Christians.  The Jews & Muslims know where they are coming from.  We are the (Christians) ones going to hell.  We have lost sight of a factual, spiritual perspective of our history.  Lose your history lose you nation/soul.

I joked to my wife that in America 80% of Jews vote democrat & consider themselves 'progressive' it is like religion to them.  I said maybe the 20% with their heads screwed on straight are descendants of Jews who saw Jesus for what he was/is even if they did not convert.

Ira Speaks.

PS  I put guitar playing Christians right up there with Elvis impersonators of every race/color/creed.

A few points.......no one can destroy GOD! God still exists and always will (if one believes in a God)

And yes, GOV ALMIGHTY is trying to replace GOD ALMIGHTY.

HOWEVER......it is up to the sheople to make their choice.

God has survived for thousands of years in communist countries. So I really doubt that God is going anywhere anytime too soon. It ultimately is a personal, God given choice/decision.

The government's role, according to the constitution, is to protect religious freedoms. And let's not forget that a government is a reflection of it's citizens....yes?

Columnist and author Andrew Sullivan said Sunday that atheism was growing in the United States
because more and more people saw Christianity as an organization intent on gaining political power.

Quoted Text
“I think our ability to be reasonable in politics and faithful in religion, and to keep those two things
separate, has atrophied to the great disadvantage of religion.”
“What has happened since 1960 is that organized groups, like the Southern Baptist Council and other
religious groups, have in fact become self-consciously political.”

“They have become fused with one political party, the Republican Party — a party that is now defined
by a particular religious faith, evangelicalism or far-right Catholic hierarchy. And that is making many
people feel that faith in Jesus is about politics and power and partisanship, in ways that’s turning off
an entire generation. The biggest growth in any belief sector in this country in the last ten years
has been atheism.”

philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

I agree, but not for the reasons he states.
I think it has more to do with the increased materialism of our society, no time or resources for organized church due to longer work weeks and 2 job families, and the effect on science/evolution.

Sullivan is immersed in politics that's why he thinks that way.

The Priest abuse scandles that have been on going for years , and american culture that as a whole is growing more socially liberal as time passes can be added to your equation imo.

correct, as the well as the Jim Bakkers of the world. I think many people still believe in god, what has taken the biggest hit is the business side of it, i.e. the Church.
I am believe in god, but I am not a church goer... for lots of reasons.

I don't think that God is in the business of choosing a political party, just like He is not in the business of picking a lotto winner......in fact it is just the reverse.
Again....God is God......The sun shines on and it rains on the christian and non-christian alike.
It simply comes down to 'personal choice'.............a gift given freely to all by God and protected by our constitution.

Ya either believe or you don't (for whatever reason)
It really is just that simple.

God?  Oh... The "One True God"... The Christian God (if you ask Christians)
or
The Muslim God, "There is but one God, and his name is Allah"... (If you ask the Muslims)
or
The One True God... Pictured below... (if you ask a Republican)

God is God and knows how foolish His creation has become. But He let us become it just the same. It is our gift of 'choice'. God knew that His creation would one day think they are gods. He knew his creation would fall short. He also knew that one day his creation would turn their backs on Him and go their own way. So don't be surprised at the condition of the world today..............God clearly isn't!! God is already in the future.

Big government aka GOV ALMIGHTY and social programs will not change the heart of man. Never did...never will!!! There is nothing new under the sun!

It is our choice.....YOU PERSONALLY choose God's law or man's law........plain and simple! Either you believe or you don't! The choice is PERSONALLY up to you.

atheist
noun
"a person who denies or disbelieves the existence of a supreme being or beings."

According to the American Religious Identification Survey, there could be as many as 40 million adult
nonbelievers in the United States.
