I love Uncle Sam's, too. Never even walked in the door at Krause's. Don't really have a reason to. Anyway, want to know why CBS 6 ALBANY brags about Krause's? It's all about LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. Just look at CBS 6 ALBANY's location in NISKAYUNA, not ALBANY. In fact, from the front door of CBS 6 ALBANY, you have to drive by the local business (just like an unnamed one on this site who says he supports local businesses is so proud of), of Uncle Sam's to get to Krause's, or better yet, Saratoga Sweets (couldn't even tell you where this one is located, besides the name tells you the county, and possibly the city it's in).
Sorry for not darkening your doorstep the past couple weeks, Uncle Sam, will be there soon for some after-Easter treats. Have to help continue the business outside of the busy times of year.
Gosh, poor DV must be crying so much. The traffic jams over by Uncle Sams. Tbhe demand was so very high, employees had to give up time with family in order to work on Easter Sunday! The employees were working around the clock because people LOVE Uncle Sams. And DV says he supports local business. Hmmmm

Krause's and Saratoga Sweets ARE LOCAL --- most groups that promote supporting LOCAL define local businesses as farmers, producers and small businesses within a 100 mile radius.
As for the other candy store that shall remain nameless, I have never said that others don't patronize the establishment --- it is a free country and folks are free to choose where they spend their money.

The best items in our Easter Basket (which was properly blessed at church on Easter morning) came from such fine local establishments as Sal's Market, White Eagle Packing and some other local farmers/producers. We didn't have to purchase any babka or other baked goods as some good friends who run a bakeries (one in Utica and one in Glenville) made the most delicious babka and strudel for us.
