Not ALL of the people who go there are lowlifes. I even go there, but please- if you really do go there to bring scrap metal in now and again, you will see a huge number of scumbag lowlifes showing up with 2 lbs of copper or aluminum, just enough to get their drug fix. It is so obvious. Plus you will see under-educated and uneducatable morons bringing in things worth far more than scrap for scrap value, as I sighted above. Particularly in the realm of antique architectural valuables which they have decided to destroy with sledgehammers in order to get $20 for when the products are worth far more to an architectural salvage firm. So yeah, I am a customer- and I don't always like what I see there but that is generally because the City if filled with lowlifes and they are just a microcosm. It doesn't reflect on Mrs. Predal or her staff (one is a friend of mine) and I am a customer of her ranch as well.
But really, if you want to be disgusted with how stupid so many people in Schenectady are- just spend a half an hour bringing a load of stuff down there.
MT, did you notice any of what I am talking about? I once watched 3 dirtbags pull up and turn in 3 batteries once and they received 7 dollars. Was it even worth the gas to drive there? They looked like they were going to burst because they needed their meth fix. Another time there was some Spanish speaking person arguing that he would not show his license in order to get paid (apparently he figures since he DOESN'T NEED ONE TO VOTE HE DOESN'T NEED ONE TO TURN IN SCRAP) for a half an hour. I was amazed that he eventually pulled out some form of ID card. (No driver license? Oh it is amazing and entertaining. But if you spend enough time you get very depressed knowing these people vote sometimes.
