It really doesn't matter how many drug busts/arrests are done. The court system is weak and impotent! These perps are let out in record time due to all of the plea deals!!
Yes the crime in schenectady is of epic proportions.....but until the city court system actually does it's job and punishes to the fullest extent of the law....this will only continue to get worse.

Then tax us again to run them through the court system, then tax again to house them in the pen. The drug addict, another government boogieman. Americans love a good boogieman. Makes them feel safe when a politician say they will protect you from the drug addict - for a fee of course.

I don't have the time to look it up right now, but I wonder what carries a greater penalty, growing without a license or selling cigarettes across state lines without collecting taxes. My guess is, stiffing the government of money on a legal product is a more egregious offense than selling an untaxed illegal product.

You hit the nail on the head. I am seeing a trend here and am starting to wonder if the police are getting the short end of the stick here. While there are definetly some police who are milking the system, I couldnt imaging coming to work every day risking my life to get these people off the street only to see them back out there due to weak judges and sentences.

Those marijuana drug dealers are not making nearly as much as Anheuser Bush or Miller Brewing Company. How many lives has alcohol ruined? Not sayin make alcohol illegal, but it is tough to make a logical argument allowing one drug dealer to ruin lives for profit, while condemning the other. Studies show that marijuana is a safer drug than alcohol and it doesn’t create a physical dependency. Just sayin.
