No kidding.  I drive 15 miles one way to church.  That way I'm sure that you won't be there.

And you think that it should bother me?  You can drive 500 miles one way - if you want to be so ignorant and close-minded.

DVOR....money is not abundant to support the Catholic schools BECAUSE.....so much money was awarded the victims fo molestation

that occurred for years in the Catholic church by the priests......people have moved out of the city but.....

Today, children take their district  buses provided to their school of choice or because they have been enrolled into a different

district because of personal reasons....usually ones that have been thrown out of one school and put into another...

.so it isn't because of the travelling that enrollment is down....the Catholic church supported those who couldn't afford it ...basing it

on their income.....and this was a SURPRISE to all the parents at St. John's....

Now the church cannot help that effort and I do believe that the Bishop does have the final say in what school closes....same as

the church....and it's all about money....and what is determined by the Bishop, to  the Vatican....the Catholic church has always

been known to be big business.....and it is very political...even from the Vatican....

That's what was discussed today in the Donut Shop...

While it is certainly sad to see St. John the Evangelist School close, I know for a fact that the pastor ..... worked very hard over the past few years to keep that school open.  ....

If that is true then why did he eliminate fund raising activities?

if that is true, why did he carefully plan the announcement on the same day he fled the country so he wouldn't have to face the families?

It is not just money -- it is also enrollment -- you can not run a school with so few students.

As for the rest of you comments .. all a pack of lies -- they just show your anti-Catholic bigotry.

Same goes for the comments from the he/she monkey --- he/she is a foul, low-life, knuckle-dragging bigot/racist .   That is why he/she is on permanent ignore.

And notice how he claimed he knows "for a fact" that the pastor worked so hard to keep the school open, but yet he refuses to answer why the pastor eliminated the biggest fund raising activity for the school.   And why did the pastor flee the country rather than face the families when the announcement was made?

He was trained by Hubbard.  Hubbard always was out of town or "unavailable" for comment whenever a popular chuch was closing also ... it's their style.  I hear "they" have a nice vacation home in Florida ..

I know for a FACT that the pastor has worked very hard to save the school just as he has worked hard to maintain 2 parishes.   If you have a problem with my saying so publicly -- quite frankly that is your problem .. so deal with it.
You folks are the worst form of bigots and terrorists -- you push a pile of lies and baseless innuendos -- you hide behind your screen names like the chicken-sh*t cowards that you are.  I am pretty sure there will be a special place in hell for fascist creeps like you.

What is more cowardly, ignoring the issues and facts and being in a spinner like you or telling it like it is.  You are not a realestate taxpayer in Schenectady and one respects you.  I know you dont care....... but it is a fact.

Oh, and Rhonda - as a practicing Catholic, as you claim, it's your DUTY and RESPONSIBILITY to pray for people so their souls do NOT end up in hell ... Ask any of your buddies next time you're partying at Carl's.

I know for a FACT that the pastor has worked very hard to save the schoolu.

If you know that "for a FACT" then explain why he eliminated the biggest fundraiser of the year for the school?

I, personally, have no problem with you making a comment, but if you know "for a FACT that the pastor worked so hard to save the school," then why did he eliminate the biggest fundraiser for the school?

How is eliminating the biggest fundraiser for the school indicative "working hard to save the school" ????

And tell us why the pastor carerfully timed the announcement so he wouldn't have to face those fammilies---those that send their children there---and answer to them?   Why did he flee the country?
