DV and his cohorts turn a perfectly educational  and informational truthful conversation into a mess all the time..

Why even degrade this thread with comments to and about him...

ST JOHN EVANGELIST WILL PREVAIL......that's the word....

You're right Patches................I think maybe it's time for a "ronnie the commie Poop" thread.

The Superintendent of schools told us at the meeting that the dioceses told Carlino that he should not allow the kindergarten at St Anthony's to open because it would have a negative impact on St John's. Father Carlino allowed it anyway. This is true per representatives of the church itself. Not fourth grade rumors.

I suspect that you are just one of the alter-egos of MikeChristine or GrahamBonnet or Mobileterminal.    You seem to have adopted their style ---  twist words, take other peoples words out of context or make-believe they said something completely different from what they actually posted, focus your hatred and blame on one person and otherwise peddle a bunch of misinformed garbage.

Ha!  No, not an alter ego of anyone. A real parent of two very real children who currently attend the school and were registered for next year. I have really been to these meetings and really talked to the staff and really had to go to open houses for the other schools and really had to explain to my real children why their school is closing. My littlest suggested that maybe if they didn't give so much money to the poor (because the school has many fundraisers for people in less fortunate situations-they sponsored a family in Schoharie, sponsor two children in other countries, raised money for s classmates whose house was lost in a fire, etc) there would be enough money to keep the school open. Made me sad to have to explain the many readons why that was not a good solution.

So you can think I am fake all you want but all you have done is prove that you know nothing about what is actually occurring at the school or in the parish.

Yep, go figure.

DV is WRONG.

Here we have someone who is a parent of children at the school and DV THINKS he knows more than the people of St John's parish and school.

Once again, proof positive he knows nothing.

Hmmmm, look who is signed on as I write.   It's "Parent"

Gee, DV, you STILL have REFUSED to explain WHY the pastor fled the country instead of facing the parents at this difficult time.   Why is that DV????   Why don't you address that question???

Of course, DV is scratching his head now trying to figure this out.   He's crying "NOOOOO, this can't be, they ae the same person"    And of course he olacks the intelligence to figure out how to do this photos anyway

Now, others, that DV claimed might be parent, also need to do see when they are signed on with Parent.

The things that DV said above, let's see if he has the guts to say the same things on the facebook site to save the shool.   He won't even make an appearnce on that facebook site.

Comparing Schenectady's standardized test scores of 44%, to SJE's at 100%....it appears that there is a major need for non-public education choices. If SJE is to be no more....a charter school should be looked at 'very seriously'. The Schenectady public school is failing it's students and visa-versa.

However, there also needs to be taken into consideration that many city folks are fleeing the city due to taxes, crime and the poor performing public school system.....another reason for low enrollment at SJE.

Again...........if SJE doesn't survive....there clearly needs to be a 'better' educational option on the table too.....
1. EDUCATE THE CHILDREN
2. And advertise at least ONE good thing about the city!

Two blatant LIES that have been posted here by those who have chosen to viciously and unreasonably attack the pastor and diocese:

#1)  They claim that the pastor established a Kindergarten at St. Anthony's -- when in actuality St. Anthon;y's has a EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION CENTER  (Pre-K) as does St John the Evangelist.   There is no way that an early childhood center at either site would take students away from St. John the Evangelist Elementary School.  If anything, having a Catholic Pre-K program should have helped increase enrollment by feeding students who graduated from the two Pre-K programs into the Kindergarten program at the elementary school.

#2) There has been an insidious and hurtful allegation that the pastor "fled the country" when in FACT the pastor went on a LONG SCHEDULED and PREVIOUSLY ANNOUNCED pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

What other lies will MikeChristine and his alter-ego Parent come up with next to promote their vicious obsession with attacking a pastor and the diocese ??????????????????????

OK, a long schedule trip.   OK.    then tell us DV.....ANSWER.....why did he CRAFTILY CHOOSE the announcement to come when he was out of the countryh, when he KNEW he could AVOID FACING THE PARENTS????

Tell us DV, if you know oh so much "facts," then tell us WHY WHY WHY, did the pastor FAIL to tell parents at the meeting (for parents--held ONLY 10 DAYS before they sent the letter) that the school was so close to closing??????

WHy did the pastor FAIL to tell parents how dire the situation was?

Why did the pastor FAIL to allow the many many many many many many many many many many volunteers to continue with all the fundraisers that they were TOTALLY WILLING to do?????

St Anthony's does have a kindergarten, the hours are 8:30-3:30 and their open house was in february.   They expanded it last year from just early education to include the full day kindergarten...and it did in fact effect this years enrollment of 9 at St John's.  Of course as a parent with children in school you would not know this.  I'm sure you just went totheir website and didn't see it listed...of course I'm sure you failed to notice that they haven't updated that site since in over a year. Give them a call if you don't believe me.

and even if they have a Kindergarten program at that site -- its existence should have helped feed students into the elementary school at St. John's

Apparently, it did not help matters --- but I would certainly think that a Catholic pre-K program is a good thing.  BTW -- that Pre-K program at St Anthony's has been around quite a few years .. my youngest brother attended it in the early 1970's  ---- my niece attended St Anthony's school.  And over the years, I have helped support Catholic Schools whenever I could and helped family members send their children to Catholic Schools --- because unlike the anti-Catholic thugs who post on this site ...  I actually put my money where my mouth is and support what I believe in -- unlike you folks don't do anything to help the situation and just go around twisting, lying and deceiving so that you can insult and attack a pastor and the diocese.

Enough has been said on this subject -- the lies of the anti-Catholic thugs have been exposed and the fraud    MikeChristine posting as an alter-ego "Parent" has been exposed.

Parent....you are spot on...and anyone who knows anyone that have kids that go there, know the truth.
Carlino expanded st. anthony's kindergarten.
Carlino knew at the meeting that the school was closing.
Carlino knew he would be out of the country when the sh!t hit the fan.
Carlino did nothing to promote fundraising.

...........bottom line is that Carlino KNEW and has shown no support to these hurting/disillusioned/shocked kids and parents.

Perhaps Carlino will be more responsive when he returns...perhaps?

In either case....the city of schenectady needs a 'better choice' then the failing public school system that is in place now.
If they don't.....even more folks will be leaving!

Gee so you posted the website that I already mentioned that has not been updated in over a year. Those students would maybe be a help to St Johns if we had been allowed to advertise to them but we were forbidden from informing the of the date of St John's open house. The reason given by the center was that we are competition and so we were not allowed to give out flyers or information even for 1st-6th. You know nothing about the situation!
