Whenever I come back to NY, I notoriously bring copious amounts of local beers back home to share with all my redneck buddies.  It's not unusual for me to go back with several cases, especially if I find really good sales.

Just found these specials at the Niskayuna Co-Op ... while they're not "local" beers, they're exceptionally good (IMHO) and I love that store, I've been a member for the last, sheesh, 10+ years.

They've got some really good deals this week, so I'm about to go and stock up

KILLIAN’S IRISH RED BEER 12 pack 12 oz. bottles Reg. $10.99 Sale $9.79 Members $8.99 Limit 4

GUINNESS DRAUGHT or EXTRA STOUT 6 pack 11.2 oz. bottles Reg. $8.99 Sale $8.29 Members $7.99 Limit 4

GUINNESS BLACK LAGER 6 pack 11.2 oz. bottles Reg. $7.99 Sale $7.29 Members $6.99 Limit 4

Guinness is by far my favorite beer, and believe it or not, not easily found in all areas of the country, so ya - I'll be stocking up.  Anyone interested in a party?

Oh, and for the girls here (Ronnie)

SUNKIST, A & W, SQUIRT and SEVEN UP SODAS 2 liter bottles Reg. $1.79 Sale $1.49 Members 4/$5.00 Limit 8

We know how much you'd like to be able to have a good "squirt".  Maybe if you're lucky, you'll get Seven UP before you get too much older.

I'm not affiliated with them, other than being a member ... I just enjoy their products, service and selection.  And these beer prices are some of the best around!

Wait...What?

I've never had any problems finding Guinness and I would hardly call it a regional beer

The only "regional" beer I can think of would be Saranac.
But there's always Utica Club (ewwww) and Genesee.
There used to be Beverwyck, and Hendrick, but they're long gone.

I'm not positive, but from What I can recall, Utica Club, and Saranac, as well as Adirondack and Matts all come from West End Brewery in Utica, as did the champagne of bottled urine BILLY beer.

But yes, Guinness is regional beer...If you live in Dublin.

Nayboobs have NO idea what a REAL adult beverage tastes like..   None would have heard of Omegang since they have been out of touch -- burying their heads up their BUMS!

And no, where I'm living, you can't buy Guiness except at one local bar, and nobody drinks it because it's so old.

Between the various brew pubs that produce their own beers and Ommegang, one can avoid drinking the mass-produced effluent that some try to pass off as beer.

The group of guys that I hung with back then only bought Dobler because it was the cheapest beer made and sometimes it tasted like it had been aged for at least a week. There was a market at the 5 Corners, Larry's I think, where you could buy 3 quarts of Dobler for $1. Let us not forget the cream of the crap Hedricks brewed in Albany, recommended by Mayor Corning.

Adirondack Pub & Brewery (Lake George) makes a decent beer, with my fav. of them being 'Dirty Blonde'

Middle Ages Brewing Company (Syracuse) makes an above average beer, but I don't think the price is worth it.

Saranac is 'meh'...They make some decent ones, but it tastes too watery for me.

Samual Adams (Boston) makes some really good beers, with the seasonal ones scoring very high in my book..'Alpine Spring' is real good, my big problem with them is the 'Imperial Series'. They just fail to capture the true flavor of what they are supposed to be.
