"A new vision" heralds inmates at Walkill making eyeglasses for fellow inmates & Medicaid recipients.  Nothing but the best for those poor unfortunates on the dole.

The Chinese utilize convict labor.  Before Chinese 'slave, convict labor' we had chain gangs.  Before all this we had free men & women earning a living manufacturing goods.  Now I am all for inmates being put to work.  How about road crews, sorry the unions would not allow that.  Making eyeglasses is OK, that is private sector non union.

A pattern exist in NY State with inmate labor, it destroys non union jobs but leaves union jobs untouched.

Teach unemployed people how to make eyeglasses & put the inmates on road crews

While the ChiComs do utilize convict labor (as well as harvest thier organs to sell to wealthy western buyers) it's makes up a VERY small fraction of their workforce.

They have factory complexes the size of a med city with 500,000+ people that live, on site, working 12hrs+ per day for like $50 a day...Of course, the factories run 24/7.

We simply cannot compete with that.

You are correct!! All working Chinese work like inmates. They get paid a smidgen of money a week for long hours work. Most of their money goes back to the government. They are told how many kids and what sex the kid can be, what to eat, where to live etc....It is true that the chinese government buys their citizen everything! But the government dictates what, when and where they get it.

Example....ya need a refrigerator? The government will supply the one they think is best for you....and it may take months before you receive it. The word 'choice' is not part of the chinese language!

TRUE STORY! A relative of ours lived there for 3 years on business.

I think most of what you said is true. I've seen the slave conditions, but I don't know if it applies to ALL Chinese.
China is currently the largest consumer of HIGH end luxury goods like Ferrari's, custom Rolls Royces, and bling.
Bentley has sold more Mulliner 728 limousines – the most expensive car in the world, retailing at $1.2 million.

They're responsible for the purchase of more than a whopping 20% of the world's luxury goods.
Everything from jewelry, to furs, and connoisseur wines.

There can be no doubt though, that fully most of that country live, and are treated like animals.

But hey, who are they to question the job creators?

I know a middle class Chinese woman who just bought her second home in the mountains.  Her husband has
been driving a car for years, but she is just now learning to drive.
She has one daughter who's in college.  They vacation in China yearly, and she has vacationed in New
Zealand and in Canada.
Not all Chinese have it as good as her and her family but conditions are no where as bad as Bumble posts it.

philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.
