When Schenectady gets the high speed rail connection and - hopefully - a light rail connection (part of a CDTA light rail system for the whole area) --- things will really start to move forward for the RENAISSANCE.  It took the nayboobs 50 years to sail the county onto the rocks  and pick it clean like the bunch of theiving pirates that they are.
In 10 years, the Democratic-led "Working Together Works" Team has begun rebuilding the ship, turned the ship around and has it heading in the right direction.

People will be standing in line waiting for the new high speed rail system which will enable the residents to get out of one of the highest taxed areas in the country much faster. When you own property and start paying some of the taxes and fees in this county then you'll have the right to an opinion.

Saratoga Springs used to be a nice place to -- but most of the owner-operated businesses are being replaced by ticky-tacky chain stores and parking is HORRENDOUS.  Not to mention the risk of being mugged by some Republican -- either lost their job when Pataki was booted out or when the GOP sank Wall Street or a fundraiser for the state and local GOP party.

There are many vacant, failed businesses lining Route 9 as you approach Saratoga from Exit 13 of the Northway.     Some of these have been empty for a number of years.

Uh, DV, please tell us what is happening to the property values in Saratoga??????     And tell us what is happening to the property values in Schenectady?????

Why won't you answer those two questions, huh?     Are you a chicken?    Are you much too embarassed?

Like Benny stated, $100 million has already been flushed into the Downtown of Schenectady. There's no getting that money back and there is no retail left to show for it.

Let's face it, the money is ALL GONE...there's little to nothing left and the Metroplex is a complete failure. They brought no retail, only created a huge tax burden onto the City homeowners and now has nothing to show for spending $100 million.

Add that to the robbery of their OWN Plex office in Center City (Gazetto buried that well didn't they) and it just shows that if you don't clean up the City, it doesn't matter how much you spend.

More crime, more taxes and no more $100 million. Thanks Gillen.

How does that Downtown theme song go again? I would LOVE to hear it on this thread!!!

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Downtown
Words by: Graham Bonnet
w/apologies to Tony Hatch

When you've got connections
To the Democrat Party
You can get free dough downtown
Then you've no worries,
and the truth you can bury
Seems to help, I know, downtown

Just listen to the jingle of the payoffs in the city
Vagrants on the sidewalk where the urine stains aint pretty
TaxPAYERS lose!

The Plex has great power there
They can hide all of the troubles, pretend that they care and be
Downtown, Millionaires waiting for
Downtown, Condos next to the sewer,
Downtown, Metroplex schilling for
(Downtown)

Shift all the taxes
To the rest of the town
Dog and Pony shows downtown
Maybe you know
Some politicians to go to
When the banks are closed downtown

listen to the rhythm of a gentle assault rifle
We'll be dodgin' bullets, in the street in front of Bombers

Grab your wallet again

Taxbreaks are much bigger there
They can hide all of the troubles, pretend that they care and be
Downtown know how to grease the wheel,
Downtown, Our leaders know how to steal,
Downtown, Metroplex runs the whole dealllll
(Downtown downtown)[/quote]

The hits just keep on coming! Thank you Alias who is in fine voice.

Here's some of the other suggestions for bettering the Schenectady printed in Metroland...Apocalyptic moron culling {number one suggestion}, gourmet vegan restaurant, a clothing store, artists move there, become 10 miles closer to Albany, better drugs, Bon Jovi, etc. No one singing the praises of the 38 year implosion like DVR/Hamburger. They took $100 million dollars in regressive sales tax money and carved it up to the friends and family club. No new retail, no one fired, no one held responsible, no one knew from nuthin.

And the nayboob Republicans are still just angry that THEY screwed things up so badly -- and now that the Democratic "Working Together Works" TEAM has been hitting grand slams and are actually improving the City-County of Schenectady .. the nayboob Republicans have to lie, twist and deceive to cover their incompetence and greed which almost destroyed our beloved community.

Really?

Show us the EVIDENCE, DV.....SHOW US THE EVIDENCE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!    Oh, you won't produce any evidence, because there is none.

And you know that we on these boards who state the opposite, we are the intelligent ones, and we have produced the evidence - prooof POSITIVE of the statements we make.

Tell us, DV, what grand slam was hit with the TAXABLE tax base in the city????    Huh?????     Huh??????   Well????

Tell us, DV, what grand slam was hit with the property values in the city????     Huh ????

Tell us, DV, what grand slam was hit with lowering taxes on the financially struggling homeowners????    Huh ??????

Tell us, DV, what grand slam was hit with the dems getting the high paid city employees to move INTO the city ?????     Huh ?????

Tell us, DV, what grand slam was hit with the TAXABLE tax base in the city????

Tell us, DV, what grand slam was hit with ability for homeowners to sell their houses in the city (not simply to flee the city, but when a homeonwer's job is transferred, when the homeowner dies and the executor needs to sell it, etc. etc) ?????

Tell us, DV, what grand slam was hit with outsider buying homes IN the city ????    Huh??????

Tell us, DV, what grand slam was hit with the taxpayer paid CEO of Proctors FLEEING THE CITY so fast that he stuck the rest of the homeonwers with paying for his illegal STAR exemption????    Well?????    Why did he flee the city?    Answer that DV!

Obviously DV doesn't have a clue how baseball his played because a grand slam is an occurrence that is great.

DV makes statements that the city is "great" but REFUSES TO PROVIDE ONE SHRED OF EVIDENCE TO PROVE IT!!!!    And he avoids any challenge to explain how plummeting property values are good, how increasing taxes are good, etc.

When DV can't answer intelligent questions and produce evidence of his statements, he turns to such stupid responses.

It is quite obvious that Schenectady is NOT getting better because if it was, you would be answering the questions and proving your statements with evidence.

But all the evidence is NOT supporting your statements that things are so wonderful.

And when challenged to provide proof of your statements that things are getting better, you cannot provide any

Sooooo   DV, can you ACTUALLY answer those questions originally asked????    And produce evidence to support you answers?????
