One of the things in his movie and on his show he used to talk about, was that their research showed that people who hated him but tuned in would listen to his show for longer periods then his actual fans. After all negative attention is still attention. not really much of a shocker, he's just a shock jock and not really a political annalyst. Just like Bill O'Riley is just putting on a show and in reality doesn't believe alot of what he says (he says so himself in interviews).

indirectly...ABSOLUTELY! The media played the clip over and over again until it caught fire, it got attention of people who don't even listen to his show and then got attention of the advertisers. I guarantee you in 20 + years of his show, he has said something more inflammatory than this, and it wasn't covered like this...why?
