Being in office for 42 years has taught Tonko how to spend and waste taxpayer money with the best of the politicians. He also voted for the massive Health-Care Law that he never even read and we should re-elect him why?

As pelosi...another lefty nut case says.......'it's biblical'!!!

Tonko can’t be beaten? His record will hang him

Re March 18 letter, “GOP will have to do better to beat Tonko”: Roy Dimond prophesies erroneously that Rep. Paul Tonko is unbeatable by Republicans because he’s never lost an election and does “an excellent job for his constituents.”
His first reason doesn’t prove anything. It’s like saying a motorist with a perfect driving record will never have an accident.
If his Republican opponent, Scotia banker Bob Dieterich, hammers Tonko on his voting record, Tonko could have a tough time showing that he’s doing “an excellent job.” As a virtual dittohead for President Barack Obama and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Tonko carries heavy baggage into the 2012 election.
Times are a-changing, and more and more people are getting fed up with the Obama-Pelosi big-government, socialist model: Obamacare, the so-called “shovel-ready” stimulus that failed, massively increased regulations that hamper business and jobs, ballooning national debt, gas and grocery prices forced higher by the Democrats failing to tap our abundant natural resources.
Here are just a few recent examples of bills Tonko shouldn’t have voted against: reversing the president’s moratorium on offshore drilling; budget-cutting measures such as Cut, Cap and Balance; the Keystone Pipeline from Canada that would bring in more oil and create 20,000 jobs; the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act; and the National Rifl e Association-endorsed National Right to Carry Reciprocity Act that would require states to recognize one another’s gun permits.
And Tonko supporters such as Dimond attacking Dieterich just because he’s a banker is ludicrous.

Dieterich takes Tonko's Independence Party petitions to court
By David Lombardo
Wednesday, May 9, 2012

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The 20th Congressional race is heading to court. Republican challenger Bob Dieterich has filed a civil lawsuit against U.S. Rep. Paul Tonko, D-Amsterdam.

The suit, filed in Saratoga County on April 27 by attorney James Walsh, alleges that Tonko's Indepence petitions should be invalidated due to a number of procedural errors and violations made while collecting signatures from Independence Party voters.

The challenge cites people who signed Tonko's petitions after already having signed Dieterich's. It also alleges that come of Tonko's signatures were collected by volunteers not eligible to serve as commissioners of deeds.

“We are confident that our legal challenge will be upheld and that Rep. Tonko will not be the Independence Party candidate who appears on the ballot in November,” Walsh said in a statement.

SCHENECTADY
Fraud latest charge in fight over petitions

BY DAVID LOMBARDO Gazette Reporter
Reach Gazette reporter David Lombardo at 395-3134, dlombardo@dailygazette.net or @GazettePolitics on Twitter.

Fraud is the latest charge being leveled in a legal challenge to U.S. Rep. Paul Tonko’s presumptive hold on the Independence Party line for this fall’s election in the 20th Congressional District.
The allegation was raised Wednesday in state Supreme Court in Schenectady County by James Walsh, an attorney for the campaign of Bob Dieterich, the Republican vying to unseat Tonko. The move is part of a month-long legal battle revolving around petitions the Tonko campaign collected in an effort to appear on the Independence Party line.
The fraud accusation was downplayed by Kathleen O’Keefe, the Tonko campaign’s attorney, who characterized it as part of the Dieterich campaign’s “whack-a-mole” strategy.
Walsh had previously focused on the qualifications of the people who collected the signatures of Independence Party voters and whether an oath in the collection of signatures was properly administered. He acknowledged that Judge Barry Kramer appeared to be upholding the qualifications of people collecting signatures but still felt his side had made good strides in invalidating Tonko’s petitions.
Based on Democratic petitions incorrectly filed as Independence Party petitions and the testimony of people collecting signatures saying they didn’t administer a specifi c oath to signatories, Walsh believed about 100 of Tonko’s Independence Party signatures would be invalidated. “For one reason or another the signatures are going to fail,” he said.
Regarding the administering of oaths, O’Keefe said Walsh is counting on the court to adhere to a “gold standard” of oaths, which is not required by law. She contended that signatories can affirm who they are, where they live and that they’re a member of the Independence Party in a much more informal manner than what Walsh is pushing for.
Collectors of signatures for the Tonko campaign have testifi ed to various processes used to affi rm the required voter information, with some following the strictest standards and others employing almost none.
The new issue of fraud revolves around applications the Tonko campaign submitted in the city of Albany to make campaign volunteers eligible to collect signatures. Walsh said there were numerous factual errors regarding residence and employment information in the paperwork handled by the Tonko campaign.
O’Keefe said Walsh has had his previous attempts to invalidate petitions rejected by the court and said this tactic was born out of desperation. “Mr. Walsh is running out of time and witnesses,” she said.
She added that this is the first time an allegation of fraud has been raised and that it will be discredited. ................................>>>>..........................>>>>........................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01201&AppName=1

Taxin Tonko is one of the worst, most liberal phonies in Congress. A disgrace to Upstate New York and a laughing stock in Washington. After decades of "serving up the people" Taxin Tonko has one accomplishment-the million dollar bridge to nowhere in Amsterdam. He is also remembered for removing art before the great unwashed grieved their insane DEM taxes. Tonko is one politician that truly "understands to importance of high taxes".
