"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
The only correction that I would make to your comments -- I am NOT Hamburg, nor do I agree with most of the crap that Hamburg posts. Hamburg is worse than a nayboob .. he or she is pretending to be somebody else in a cowardly attempt to make others think that I am posting those comments.
I personally have no clue i was going with the floow On the ham thing but that makes sense. as far as my comments i babbled a bit lol it would of been ewaier to just say i like lots of police and think there are more pressing issues robbing all of us.
I don't spell check! Sorry... If you include "No offense" in a statement, chances are, your statement is offensive.

Actually, I agree with you, and the one thing that I have said about how to reduce the issues here is to cut the overtime by adding additional officers, cutting SIGNIFICANTLY the number of hours of overtime and the cost of that time. Also, it would make sure that the officers were not overtired, affecting their response times or judgment skills while in a high-pressure situation. If you add one officer on to the rolls, you are subtracting 40 hours of overtime (60 hours of pay), which can go to pay the newer officer (most likely at a lower rate per hour), plus having money left over to apply to any other benefits that he would be earning. And don't forget that there is a line in the budget for this overtime, a whopping $265,000! Breaking this out against the line for the individual officers, this would have the ability to add an additional 3 officers, who by the way, get paid an average of about $69,000 per year. I am glad to see, though, that in this budget, it was taken out for a police vacation buyback, meaning that there is more of a chance that our emergency responders have to take some time off in order to rest / recover from the stresses of their job.
By the way, I know that the police contract is now up for negotiations. Is there a place that I can look at the most recent contract (the one that they're currently serving under)?
There is one positive in rotterdam. Most of the RPD and their families actually live IN rotterdam. Which gives them a personal investment in their own town. The negative...........they need to stop playing politics.....imho
