I notice on my receipt a .40 cent 'special tax'.



I probably been paying these things fior a long time but notice it today.



I called 'concumer affairs' Schenectady County.  They had not a clue.



They sent me to Sen Farley, i think i got the other one, it is hard to tell.  They could not explain special tax.



I suggested it was the Metroplex boondoggle, they said maybe but they would have to look into it.

Tell Paul V about it when you call him.

Call Channel 6, that Greg Floyd or something.

Assert yourself, be a squeaky wheel, demand answers and don't give up til you get answers.   Ask to see a copy of the legislation that authorized some special tax.    Ask when it's institution was publicized in the media, demand to see news articles that informed you before you bought.

Then seek a refund from the taxing entity

Answer sound outrageous?   Perhaps.   But sitting back and being quiet about it is not going to solve anything
