Who cares what lies he spreads? This is the worst project ever proposed for Downtown. Right down there with narrowing State Street. The plan should be to move increased traffic to GE Main Plant more quickly and efficiently-not to choke traffic, increase pollution and waste precious tax resources. The same brain dead plans from failed DEMS masquerading as traffic planners over and over. The entire Erie business community is against this hot mess. It passed anyway 5 to 1 with Vince Riggi the only councilperson with the intelligence and financial background to see this is a total joke. Remember in November when DEM puppet Marion Porterfield is on the ballot.
I am looking forward to the many great changes in store for Lower State Street and the Erie Blvd Corridor as a result of this project. The Renaissance continues.

Once again. WHAT renaissance?
With the tens of millions, probably hundreds of millions, of THE TAXPAYERS' MONEY, can you tell us how much the TAXABLE tax base has increaed in the ctiy? Tell us what hads been the effect on the tax BILLS of the homeonwers in the city. Tell us what has happened to the values of peoples homes. Tell us about the numbers of houses in the city that have gone up for sale (with people looking to LEAVE the city). Tell us about the amount of time it takes to sell a house in the city now. Tell us about the invention of new FEES forced upon homeonwers. Tell us how much city services have increased? Is taxinig homeonwers TWICE for trash collection---partly in the form of "tax" and the other merely called a "fee" which has been already raised twice - is THAT a good thing for the homeonwers? Is it?
Of course, you cannot provide any EVIDENCE that the TAXABLE tax base has increaed wil you. No EVIDENCE to show the tax BILLS have gone down. Hell, you've posted several times about the tax "rate" being the lowest since the 1950's but you have never provided one teen weeny shred of evidence to support your statement - of course, when I, who is highly intelligent in these matters - asks you to show the lowering of the tax RATE but take into account the equalization rate and the RAR, well hen simply avoid answering
How about you go to your buddies who are telling you what to post and ask them to write down the answers to the questions I pose so you can appear to know what you are talking about. Oh, but then, you will end up writing a post that PROVES ME 1,000% correct in that all the spending on downtown has NOT helped the city -- meaning it's people, it's residents, its neighborhoods, the taxes, and home values.

I seriously doubt ANYONE is feeding him what to post...matter of fact, I think it's just the opposite....they want to distance themselves as far away from him and his ranting miscommunications as much as possible. I heard (at the breakfast diner) there is also "regret" at the appt that was made, but not clear on how they can reverse it now. He's becomethe Rotterdam albatross.
JUST BECAUSE SISSY SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO...BUT HE THINKS IT DOES!!!!! JUST BECAUSE MC1 SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO!!!!!

Maybe, maybe not.
But one think is totally fact. DV makes statements that are totally, 1,000% LIES. For over a year he says Schenectady is in this renaissance. but he totally REFUSES to answer the question of what has happened to the TAXABLE tax base.
Still waiting for him to provide one teeny weeny shred of EVIDENCE of his commnent (posted several times) that the tax rate is the lowest since the 1950's, but of course he will totally avoid rsponding to that because he is much too embarrased to admit he is wrong. Perhaps unsure. Those of us who are actually taxpayers and have intelligence on these things ask DV to provide proof and to explain the relationship of the so called lower tax RATE and it's connection to equalization rate, assessments, reassessment, RAR and uniform %age of value and DV is TOTALLY 1,000% SPEECHLESS - and because he knows nothing, he is much to chicken to even remotelly attempt to provide proof because he knows dang well that the rest of us are smarter than he is, and we whatever proof he might offer will be discredited when we provide the evidence that proves him wrong.
Now he will respond with something like "mike is talking to himself again" because DV does not have the reading comprehension ability to know what I actually said!

The truth of the matter is........the city is B-R-O-K-E!! Highest taxes in the STATE!!! Crime at an all time high! Shooters still onthe loose! Historical vacancies! Boarded up properties everywhere! And yet they are going to take a loan out for millions for a road that was home to triple the amount of cars/pedestrians than today!! WHAT A JOKE!!

It is self evident that Downtown Schenectady looks much better than it did 10 years -- from Nott Terrace (MVP) down State Street to Erie Blvd (new Key Bank and other new businesses in that block) and everywhere in between along that stretch -- new businesses and offices and Proctor's are bringing folks back Downtown. Broadway between State and I-890 has seen several new developments in the past 10 years.
Lower State Street and Erie Blvd will be next to see a MAJOR POSITIVE TRANSFORMATION. The new dorms at SCCC are just the beginning in that long-neglected (by the GOP) area.
THAT IS RENAISSANCE -- THAT IS POSITIVE CHANGE THAT WILL BRING ABOUT THE REBIRTH OF SCHENECTADY COUNTY.

It took the Republicans 40 years to drive Schenectady County into the ground with their DO-NOTHING approach to leadership --- it will take a few more years to undo that damage -- but the Democratic majorities on the County Leg, City Council and surrounding Town Boards have made great progress in turning the ship around and heading it in the right direction.

Like a broken record. He sounds like Goebbels in April of '45! "The armies of the Reich are victorious on the battlefield and have turned the Russian bear into FULL retreat! Our Western forces have CRUSHED the Allies and pushed them back over the Rhine!"
I sometimes wonder if his aunts blindfold him when they put him in the car and only take the blindfold off once they arrive at the curb in front of Villa Italia, then feed him his pastries and repeat the blindfold thing on the way back to the countryside. This is certainly a man who hasn't looked around at what is happening in the City outside of the 2 or 3 blocks where they shoved 100 million into the hands of the connected few.
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

It's better? For who????? For the millionaires that are 100% exempt from paying property taxes????? Or for the homeowners who have had the tax burden (of the millioniares) shoved upon them?
Well? Got an answer for that one?
Well?

Oh, so you think that by narrowing Erie Blvd in order to cause traffic haards and bottlenecks will make people decide to "just move to the city" to avoid the bottlenecks?
Or is it stealing from the taxpayers in order to narrow the street in order to give the APPEARANCE of lots of traffic in the city?
Which is it?
