What was plain stupid is how the grant was applied for...someone wrote it that way, don't tell me the Feds told the city they had to stop at Union st.
Believe me, I have no jealousy of you. I do something useful... by working and paying income taxes, school and property taxes,..only to see government morons piss my money away by polishing turds like this project.
BTW, ...working and paying taxes... maybe that's something you should try..

Since you really don't know anything about me - except for the lies that your fellow nayboobs spread in their hate-filled attempt to destroy someone that threatens them by exposing their ignorance and lies - I suggest that you stop judging other people.   Apparently, you and the other nayboobs are quite jealous that I have done well enough in life that I can afford to enjoy my life and devote myself to volunteering in the community.

Furthermore, it really exposes you and your fellow nayboobs for the ignorant hypocrites that you really are when you are constantly negative and can only seem to make personal insults and personal attacks .. rather than an ACTUAL convincing argument for your point of view based on actual facts.

Where to begin ... let's start with the fact that you're living with two elderly ladies in the, "family home", have no job (other than the govt teet) and you can't even afford to buy a suit coat and tie that actually FIT, let alone a pair of black socks when you're wearing dress up clothes.

Well, guess I got it all out in one paragraph ... I'm done here.  I'm sure the other "nayboobs" would LOVE to chime in to your response ... however pathetic it is.  (Oh, I thought you blocked us all?)

If living in your aunties basement is your definition of doing "quite well", then call me jealous
As far as my view, I stated it with FACTS, you chose to ignore it. You have yet explained why spending 14 million on a SECTION of Erie blvd that has next to no business on it, instead of concentrating on the entire length of the blvd and rotting cesspool of neighborhoods surrounding it, is a better choice.

In today's reality, building a pretty business district to attract residents is a**-backwards.
Improve the neighborhoods, and then people will actually want to live in the city. In turn, they will demand improved commercial services and with the increased tax rolls, the city has a means to provide it.
I use Saratoga Springs, Malta, and Clifton Park as prime examples of how successful municipalities grow.

Your first comment - the personal attack - was not only completely false .. it just reinforces the belief that everyone has of how hate-filled and ignorant you and your nayboob pals are.

Your second comment is equally ignorant of the facts -- there are quite a number of businesses along that stretch of Erie Blvd and  while the grant may not cover the ENTIRE stretch of Erie Blvd -- it is much better to START with what we got and fix the first half and continue to work to get funds to fix the other half  .. than it would be to just refuse the funds altogether.

You and the other nayboobs are so hell-bent on tearing down Democrats that you don't care  a) how your hate and ignorance damages our community  and b) makes you all look like a bunch of right-wing lunatics.

Anyway -- the Erie Blvd project is a HUGE step in the right direction .. and shows that the City-County of Schenectady is in FULL RENAISSANCE MODE.

AGAIN, wasn't the redoing of State street supposed to be a step in the right direction?    But, uh, it has already been PROVEN that is WAS and still IS many many steps in the wrong direction!    You DO, know that the excess of $100 MILLION has NOT, and I repeat NOT increased the TAXABLE tax base in the city!   All that spending has simply meant SUBSTANTIALLY increased taxes on the financially struggling homeowners.   It has mean HUGE handouts of taxpapyer money to rich, well-heeled and politically conncted.   It has NOT resulted in people wanting to buy houses and move INTO the city.   It has resulted in DRASTICALLY plummeting property values.   It has resulted in even the city employees fleeing the city, even the lavishly paid Morris choosing to flee the city.

And I DEFY YOU to produce EVIDENCE to the cotnrary

Yeah, the traffic on erie blvd going to those businesses is amazing, I can never find a parking spot

Let see:
Silver dollar diner - demolished
SHE- Gone
Kem Cleaners - Gone
Olender (adjacent to Erie) - gone
Quiznos - Gone

All the while, Bellevue, Mount Pleasant, lower Union, lower state, Hamilton hill, all left to ROT.
where is all the tax revenue from the RENAISSANCE?
Why is the county still one of the most heavily taxed in the Country?
I see a few select people making a lot of money and attitude for the residents of the neighborhoods I mentioned is go F yourselves.

I think DVOR is actually part of the GOP.  He's the mole in the DEM party.  No other way to explain what he says.  Do you really think he thinks that we are doing a good job.  I mean he could be a glass is half full type of guy but he is a little extreme.

Silver Dollar demolished because it was unsalvageable and didn't comply with modern standards (accessibility, health and safety, etc)
KEM Cleaners gone went out of business -- because like a many other dry cleaning companies have found out -- there just isn't enough demand for their services anymore,
Olender - went out of business because the owner wanted to retire and there was no one in the family to take over
Quiznos - went out of business because it sold undersized, crappy subs    ....  they couldn't compete with Lyle's and Subway.

And maybe -- you should notice the MANY businesses that actually are on Erie Blvd ... and succeed because they offer a good product or service at a good price and are located in the greatest City-County in upstate New York.

He is practicing his brand of nay-boobism again.

If it's the greatest city council, please explain why the taxes are not just the highest in upstate NY, but they are almost the highest in the whole dang country ????   Explain that DV!!!

Of of course, the big chicken won't answer the important questions.

Why do you refuse to answer the question of what have the dems done to the TAXABLE tax base in the city?????    Huh?????

Tell DV, why don't people choose to buy houses in and move into the city??????

If it's the greatest city council, then tell us why you REFUSE to buy a house in the city?????

Why do you refuse to answer the important questions??????????????

Too chicken to admit that you won't buy a house in the city because the taxes are much too high and the necessary services are dwindling

Well, your parish church does not comply with modern standards, no handicapped accessibility.   If an elderly person walking with a walker could even get up the stairs, how would the person get out in an emergency?     Where's the elevator?   Churches need to be closed, so close the ones that are not accessible to the handicapped?
