I thought he went to Virginia for that.  I hear it's got certain areas known for that kind of action.

On erie blvd, once you cross state st heading toward maxon rd, the condition of the road surface is a JOKE!
How about using a fraction of the 14 million that will be wasted on a cosmetic project and re-do the road to resemble something from the past 100 years?

I know exactly what you mean becuase I travel that road too frequently.
Why can't they just repave all Erie Blvd, not change the width, and spend the money to put in some intelligent defined cross walks with traffic light controls. Get the building owners to invest in modernizing/cleaning up their facades, and get some "retail" sales into those empties.  I don't think it would cost $14M and I think it would be just as productive if not more, while retaining the historic resemblence of what was once the canal.

100 years ago -- Erie Blvd was the Erie Canal -- I am not sure digging up the canal and refilling it with water would be the best use for the future.  But then again the nayboobs seem to want to turn everything back to the 15th century --- so why don't we just take down ALL the buildings and live in log cabins and tepees.

Might as well. We still have the same infrastructure!

Who advocates filing it with water?

Ain't that the truth, I have to drive down Erie Blvd everyday and it's not fun with a busted shock mount

The Erie Blvd project is key to the revitalization of the City-County of Schenectady.   I look forward to the announcement of many great and wonderful new projects -- all as a result of this wise investment in rebuilding one of the City-County's most important traffic corridors.

Wait, we thought the State St project was the key to the revitallization of the City-County of Schenectady.

What have those projects done?

You STILL have not answered the question---how have the projects increased the TAXABLE tax base in the city?

Why do you not answer that question?

You STILL have no answered the question - what have the projects done to the tax BILLS of the HOMEOWNERS in the city?

Why do you not answer that question?

You STILL have not answered the question --- what have the State St projects done to the residential property values in the city?

Why do you not answer that question?

You refuse to answer when you cannot produce the EVIDENCE that makes the city more desirable to buy a home and live in

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Erie Blvd is getting the much needed updating and improvements that it needs from I-890 to Union Street -- and eventually I hope we can get some more federal monies to make improvements all the way down to Freeman's Bridge.   The City-County of Schenectady is definitely in a RENAISSANCE MODE and looking better every day -- thanks to the awesome "Working Together Works Team"  (County Leg, City Council, Metroplex, County Economic Development, et al).

All the nayboobs can do is yelp and whine like a bunch of puppies that need to be paper trained.

Maybe narrowing Erie Blvd is going to slow people down from leaving Schenectady so fast.

Not rebuilding the ENTIRE erie blvd road surface while adding window dressing is like putting new vinyl siding on a house that has a crumbling foundation.
The main purpose of a road is for transport. This is  just another example of a "polishing a turd" project that will do nothing for the city or tax base.

In one post, you nitwit nayboobs claim that Erie Blvd is in such horrible shape as a road,  In the next post, you attack an actual plan to rebuild and improve Erie Blvd.

The fact is that you folks have no desire to help or to see your community improve.  You folks are hell-bent on spreading your hatred, lies and deception.
