Wouldn't be surprised.

Or just avoid coming to this thread altogether.

Notice, he HAS been signed on AND posted messages already.   But since he IS TRULY the KING of not providing evidence, and since he has been now challenged to provide evidence of his comments on here, and HE HAS ABSOLUTELY NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER to support his comments, he has chosen to avoid posting on this thread.    He knows that those of us to are in opposition to his view are the ones who speak the truth and he can't handle that.

Any evidence yet, DV???????

Is it really collapsing?  The place looks overbuilt from the outside.  I find it hard to believe.  Any other sources rather than third person?

Heard yesterday from a guy who's building the SCCC housing for BBL across from the college that there was a significant amount of temporary shoring put up inside the old armory after the flooding, which is now giving way.  They're supposedly going to make decisions soon on it's demise.  He estimated the shoring installed won't last another 3 months, max. It'll cost millions to fix - or they could just tear it down.  He said it would be more economical to take it down - but didn't know what they'd do yet.

Interesting.

The person who started this thread started with stating that the building was in bad condition and he used the term "collapsing" in the title of the thread.
So I am engaging in a reasonable discussion of the issue based on the statement that started the thread.  It is not up to me to produce the evidence that the building is collapsing --- If anyone needs to produce the evidence it is the person who started the thread, used the word "collapsing" in the title and made the above statements regarding the structure.

Bottomline - I have said that I prefer a private-sector use of either the building (if it can be saved) or the property.    On the other hand, I am not opposed to the building or the site being used by SCCC for a gym or some other purpose that it might have need for or by the county for some other purpose.

If anyone wants to seriously and civilly discuss the issue than I am prepared to continue the discussion.   Those who only wish to be nasty and ignorant .. know what they can do and know that I am not intimidated by their threats and attempts at cyber bullying.

Oh gosh, DV CANNOT provide evidence to back up things he says, so now he defines a request, a challenge, to provide evidence as cyber bullying.

It is NOT bullying to ask you to provide evidence.   Asking one to provide evidence, proof, to support their comments is TOTALLY NORMAL in a any civil discussion.

We have yet to see you provide evidence of the vast majority of statements you have made on these boards.   Lack of evidence is indicative of lies.

I can't cite any other source - the person that told me is a lead builder on the SCCC housing project next door, who seems to know what he's talking about.  That's the only source I have - I don't know anyone else affiliated enough to get answers.

You must have difficulty comprehending simple written English.  The fact is that I did not make the claim that armory was collapsing -- your buddy  MobileTerminal did.  So tell him to provide the evidence to pack up HIS statement that started this whole discussion thread.

Ultimately, my position is still the same -- the building is empty . has been for a number of years and regardless of how much repair it needs -- it does need a lot of work to adapt it for some other use ----------------and I believe that something should be done - preferably by someone from private-sector but ultimately by whomever has the resources and will to solve the problem.

The essence of the discussion is   What should be done about it?   You have some deep-seated problem  that you can't carry on an actual civilized discussion on the topic.   Get over it or join the real world of reasonable, thinking, civil adults or just take your hate-filled pack of lies and venom someplace else.

You must have difficulty comprehending simple written English. Can you tell me why the city didnt even consider the Armory for some of there maintenance needs.  It is setup for that use already and perhaps they could have scaled the Foster Avenue project down to half the amount.  The reason is the same as with the city leasing fire pumpers instead of buying them.  they want the best of the best.  Tahoes for all....95% employee healthcare paid for.....  $0 deductables for insurance.  Rental cars for undercover cars.  Raised the stop loss insurance for the employees from $75,000 to $100,000.  Cant wait to see what suprises we get next.

I would suggest that you need to ask someone from the city.  As you well know,  I had nothing to do with that decision and have no opinion.   Furthermore, I have said REPREATEDLY -- that I would prefer a  PRIVATE SECTOR USE for the old armory building or site.    What part of that do you and your alter-ego mikechristine and grahambonnet not understand ?

What I dont understand is why someone as smart as you wouldn't see how perfect the Armory already is to store the city trucks.

Private sector use for the abandoned armory? LOL! Before or after Death Ray brings in his first national retailer? The private sector is abandoning this County in droves from Sealed Air in Glenville to 108 year old Olender's Downtown. The Feds have tried repeatedly to auction this off and no one public, private or nonprofit can afford to heat or pay the sick taxes that the assessor would place on it.

Or spell repeatedly correctly. The DEMS have already bankrupted the City for a new Taj Mahal for City Vehicles on "renaissance" Foster Ave. The housing stock on the block is collapsing but oh those curbs!

Great advise from a planner - ask the city about a STATE property.

There really is no way the Armory is collapsing.  It is way "overbuilt".  Watch this video and tell me it couldnt/shouldnt have been used instead of building The Foster Ave Taj Mahal.

I dont see it being torn down anytime soon either.  It would cost more than the Trusco building to tear down.
