This issue was addressed in the 80's when the PATCO air traffic controllers protested the lack of training and forced
overtime that led to mistakes caused by overworked controllers.

Ronald Reagan solved that problem.  He fired the PATCO Union Workers and hired scabs to fill their positions with out
fixing any of the PATCO issues.  (And Conservatives Cheered)
Today those scabs are falling asleep for the same issues that the UNION did.

The issues of overworked and forced overtime just got worse and today you are posting about the Conservative
Fix to a pressing problem that won't go away.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

It must be Reagan's fault that these guys fell asleep. But the bigger question is: are THESE PEOPLE IN A UNION THAT PROTECTS SUCH MALFEASANCE?

YES. They ARE!

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

There is blame... and there is cause and effect.

The time to fix the problem was in the 80's when it first surfaced... they fired PATCO and thought the problem
would go away... it didn't and now still needs the same fix that was needed then...
Shorter work weeks (even if it means a cut in pay) and better training for emergency situations.

UNIONS AND THE PAST LEADER'S AND THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES....apparently we are blaming the past leaders for the traffic controllers shortcomings.....how about the lack of future outlook
and needs by our public school system?

you are completely right.....emphasis is always on science, computers, etc.,

I don't ever hear anyone say they want to be an Air Controller.....probably carries more

responsibility than any other career.....the souls on airliners are in the hands of both

pilot and controller....if either fails.....well......we've seen it that human error exists....and especially

when pilot is drunk, on laptop.....and controller is sleeping or inexperienced.

frightening isn't it.....safe in the air than on the road....

How does better training stop them from texting (when they KNOW it is against the rules) and sleeping (when they KNOW it is against the rules)???????????????????????

The liberal's only answer is to tax and spend more. Forget ENFORCING RULES or FIRING INCOMPETENTS. THAT would make sense and would NOT BANKRUPT AMERICA. The liberal's solutions are to BLAME THE LACK OF SPENDING, SOMEWHERE, AT SOME GOVERNMENTAL LEVEL. NEVER to blame the actual malfeasers.

Only om America !!!!!!!

Does anyone pay attention to rules...technology has introduced an irresponsible society..

Drivers on the road are still texting....talking on cell phones.....using laptops..

Do you think that anyone pays attention to what is LAW......goes to show what mindset has been embedded

in minds of those who pay no attention to what their RESPONSIBILITY really is...

And unions can't change that....if the laws can't....

They just keep on "truckin'"    and how sad is that ?????????????
