BREAKING: Police responding to incident in city's Vale neighborhood

SCHENECTADY — Several city police officers and emergency personnel are on the scene in the Vale Park neighborhood at this time in response to a report of an incident at 6 Mynderse St.

Police say a press conference will be held within the hour to discuss the incident. More details will be posted as they become available.

Mynderse runs perpendicular to State Street a few blocks east of Nott Terrace.

No info about when the conference is?

And the gazette story says the police are going to hold a press conference to discuss the incident?

Why a press conference?    

After all, murders, suicides, stabbings, shootings, etc are NOT rare occurence in Schenectady.   The only time I really notice press conferences are if a police officer was a victim or if the police did something to someone

You sure it wasn't number 4?  Wow what pretty sidewalks they have!  Isnt that right next to the pretty Vale Village sign?

Police: Murder-suicide in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY — A man and a woman are dead after a murder-suicide earlier Thursday afternoon, according to police.
The bodies were found around 1:20 p.m. inside a home at 6 Mynderse St. shortly after police received a call for a person with a knife in the area, said Lt. Mark McCracken.
The victims' identities have not been released, as police are still trying to locate family members.
The home where the bodies were found is just off State Street, near Vale Park. Further details as to how the attack unfolded were unclear as of 2:30 p.m.

Of course, you want all the crime covered up.   hush hush because you want more money for the millionaires downtown, more tax exemptions for the well-heeled downtown, you don't want the public to know what goes on in the city

I want ALL information posted but the FACTS are that Schenectady is NOT any more dangerous than any small city in Upstate New York.....

And Rotterdam is becoming a statistic.....they are all moving here...thinking they can get away

with crime.....it's coming ...slowly but surely....

Another sad and useless death in the city of schenectady!!

On the bright side........at least it happened AFTER the city's OPEN HOUSE!

Calls came into police at 1:17 this afternoon from concerned neighbors, reporting a man with a knife broke into a murder home at 6 Mynderse Street.

"Officers responded to that location, forced entry into the residence and found two deceased people, a male and a female," says Schenectady Police Lieutenant McCracken.

Police call it a murder-suicide but, remained tight lipped on the details. However, we did speak with neighbors who say the man and the woman involved were in a relationship. One neighbor tells us this isn't the first time police were called to the home. The neighbor says early last week, the woman was standing on her porch saying her boyfriend was trying to kill her. Neighbors helped her call police at that time and say now they're frustrated because they say this incident could've been prevented.

"To see the cops light this block up like Christmas and then to see it was at that home, it made me want to cry. Because I just helped her," the neighbor told us.

We asked police if there had been any previous calls to the home and were told no comment.

Names will not be released until next of kin are notified.

Maybe they got their tax bill later than most?
