Rachael72....... We have many friends, acquaintances and family members who are 'deeply' involved in the troubled teen/pregnancy/crime issues in the entire capital district. You can throw new laws on the books, you can throw PP at these kids, you can throw religious organizations at these kids and it will NOT and does NOT do anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These teens WANT to have babies and they do NOT care who the 'baby's daddy' is. Their exact words are........'if I have a baby, I'll have something to love'. NO KIDDING. FACT. They have sh!tty home lives and are looking to make a family of their own. THE TRUTH!!!!! These kids are anywhere from 10 years old to 14 years old and many already have 'babies'.
They have been or are in group homes, delinquent homes and have gone for countless months of counseling. PP is part of this so called 'sex training' and so are religious organizations. BOTTOM LINE IS.........these kids aren't and won't listen. THEY WANT BABIES.....PERIOD!!! Some are violent in nature and still show up pregnant.
This is real life folks. You don't need to 'cut, paste and/or quote' here! THIS IS THE UGLY FACTS!! And it is everywhere!!
In most cases this is NOT a sex issue. It goes way beyond that!
Totally agree Bumble! PP is not a solution, never was and never will be. CDC reports asked teens what the main reason for unprotected sex...the #1 answer: it was spontaneous. That's right. Not enough time to really think it out or be prepared. My point here is that in Schenectady, a City with a very high teen pregnancy rate, PP never ONCE stepped up to the plate and tried to get these teens educated. Was it the schools fault or was it the fault of a PP making millions from abortions and teen prenatal care in the County? I'm tired of people buying into PP like it's the only hope for women. It's not and it proves that in the City of Schenectady time and time again. Keeping the dumbed down society ignorant and helpless. |

No need to cut and paste??? No need for facts??? Sex is not the issue... education is the issue. When kids see that there is more to life than the next generation of welfare moms, and get a glimpse of what their future can be, teens will make other decisions. For those sexually active teens who do want to practice safe sex, there is a place for them to obtain birth control and education about STD's. When parents won't, or don't teach their kids, PP can offer the kids the ONLY safe, effective and reliable place to obtain accurate facts. |

For those sexually active teens who do want to practice safe sex, there is a place for them to obtain birth control and education about STD's. When parents won't, or don't teach their kids, PP can offer the kids the ONLY safe, effective and reliable place to obtain accurate facts.
And how do they learn of PP? They haven't opted-in for the sex ed class, PP hasn't taken a stand in the community to address the issue so where does this knowledge of PP come from?? PP is just like most of the non-profits in the City - they do NOTHING! Domestic violence is out of control but where are the battered womens groups for these victims? Why don't they make an appearance at the court and talk to the abuse victims? Well, that would take effort. How about the pregnant teens in our community? They know where the medicaid office is, maybe PP can set up shop next door at Galesi's other building. The Schenectady PP is not in the business of be a pro-active member of our community - they are simply there when it's too late. |

Everyone is missing the point here. These kids DON'T WANT BIRTH CONTROL...........THEY WANT BABIES!!!! PP nor any religious organization can not and will not ever fix that. It is an entitlement, co-dependent, lack of empowering societal failure that started decades ago when the government stepped in and become 'mommy and daddy', and bad ones at that.
PP steps in and promises the extermination of these so called 'parasites' via abortion/birthcontrol. Ain't happening....not working!
Until these people are gradually taken off the government teet.......this will continue, as history has proved, for generations to come.
People need to come to their senses and realize that PP is an epic failure! Sanger's goal was to exterminate the parasitic blacks. And although they have succeeded to an extent........they will NEVER be able to harness the 'babies wanting babies' ideology and the male's raging hormones that are ready to oblige. |

Of course it hasn't worked. Why do you think PP forced their way into the school's health class?? A class where they are already mandated to teach sex education.
