Exclusive: Legislator Claims Run For Office Led To Firing Santabarbara was fired from Chazen one day after disclosing Assembly plans By John Purcell As of Tuesday, February 21, 2012 -12:27 p.m.
#Schenectady County Legislator Angelo Santabarbara is claiming his state Assembly aspirations have led to him being fired from his job.
#The Chazen Companies on Tuesday, Feb. 14, fired Santabarbara, who has worked as a senior project manager and project engineer with the company for more than five years. It was one day after he informed his superiors in a letter of his intentions to run for a seat in the state Assembly.
#According to Santabarbara, the construction consulting firm told him he was let go because his department was being restructured and his position eliminated, but Santabarbara said he believes his decision to run for office played a part in his sudden termination.
#“I think it is important that people are not afraid to run for public office,” Santabarbara said. “I don’t think that’s right and I don’t think that’s fair.”
#Upon arriving to the office on the afternoon of Tuesday, Feb. 14, Santabarbara said he was called into a room with Senior Principal Daniel Stone, Senior Director of Business Development David Ardman and Vice President of Human Resources Lauren Gillett.
#“I sat down, and they said that this was about me running for office and I explained to them my intentions,” Santabarbara said on Thursday, Feb. 16. “Dan Stone, the owner, immediately said, or as soon as I was done … ‘running for office and you working here is not going to work.’ That is his exact words that I remember.”
#According to Santabarbara’s account, Stone said, “We are going to have to part ways.” July would have marked Santabarbara’s six-year anniversary at Chazen.
#Santabarbara said Gillet then said the reason for his termination was a restructuring of his department. Santabarbara said he was unaware of any restructuring efforts before the meeting at which he was fired..........................>>>>....................>>>>.....................................................http://www.spotlightnews.com/news/2012/feb/21/exclusive-legislator-claims-run-office-led-firing/

Santabarbara is so full of $hit. If he were really fired for this reason, then don't you think, oh, I don't know, they would have fired him the FIRST TIME he ran for the seat, not the SECOND? I mean, he WAS RUNNING for the SAME SEAT (or at least the SAME TYPE OF SEAT) in the Assembly back when he ran against George Amedore in 2010.

November 2010 general election, NYS Assembly, 105th AD[10] George A. Amedore, Jr. (REP - IND - CON) ... 21,438 Angelo L. Santabarbara (DEM - WOR - CAN) ... 15,089
( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Amedore) ... 2 years ago, and he's been working for Chazen for 6 years. The first time it wasn't a firing reason, but now it is? I guess if you're a Democrat in Rotterdam, you can sue over ANYTHING. Hit the bricks, Angelo. Look for work like the rest of the people who live in Schenectady County who you help to put out of jobs. Queue DVOR and his aliases posse goons friends. |

I wonder, since he's no longer with Chazen, does this mean his services teaching the youth at Schalmont will also be "no longer required?" |

But for that type of position, don't you have to live in the city? Oh, wait, this is Schenectady. Look at it this way, A-Jello, at least you won't have a car payment anymore, free from the city taxpayers. |

Maybe this is good timing. We can get A-Jello on the Planning Commission instead of Doughboy. |

#“I think it is important that people are not afraid to run for public office,” Santabarbara said. “I don’t think that’s right and I don’t think that’s fair.”
Is this guy for real? A-Jello's political appoinment to the Rotterdam IDA and relationship with the Tommasone Administration and Town Attorney was his value to Chazen. Now, after YEARS in political office, and multiple contracts awarded to Chazen because of his position in political office, Chazen suddenly frowns upon their employees involvement in politics. Maybe when A-Jello's political career went from being an asset to a liabilty, Chazen had to make some hard decisions. That's business. If you are going to mix personal business and politics, you better be prepared to take the good with the bad. Looks like the ride is over. |

He ran for Assembly just a couple of years ago........with an embarrassing loss as Kosiur did!! He IS a county legislature....how many terms so far?? And now....all of a sudden......IT'S POLITICS????? Now that is R-E-A-L-L-Y a stretch!!! Don't be surprised that he'll land some created patronage job, just like the rest that can't make it in politics on their own, out of schenectady county!! City engineer? |

Has he returned his illegal salary from the RIDA to the town taxpayers yet? Inquiring minds want to know. |

I'm sure that a-jello 'recorded the entire FIRING conversation'. After all.........that's what a-jello does best!!! I will say one thing.........it was a very bad move to make this public and drag a company into the court of public opinion. This will just be a black eye for a-jello whenever or wherever he goes for another job. This was a 'private' matter that a-jello made public and political. Any reliable business will be reluctant to hire him now! And rightfully so. The guy has a questionable history.... he records personal conversations he/wife accused of 'signature fraud' receiving $$ from the RIDA the long pond deal the si deal |

It would be a race to see who can get to the left the fastest. Hey, Doughboy, I think A-Jello already started running. You might want to get a moveon.org. |

Now he has more time to devote to his acting career. I predict that he will host a daily talk show on SACC discussing such topics as making basket cheese or raising chickens. |
