America was founded on the principle that the government couldn't FORCE you to do anything. If you want a government that can FORCE you to do anything then doesn't that go against the live and let live argument. Oh but I get it you just said that because it fit your agenda, those who believe differently then you the live and let live motto doesn't apply, hypocrite >

Back to your old hack phrases... "AMERICA WAS FOUNDED ETC ETC ETC"

America was founded by people who owned slaves. (unfortunately for you, that has changed)
America was founded where women had no rights. (Unfortunately for you, that has also changed)
America was founded on FREEDOM... but only white male adult property owners had the right to vote. (such
annoying freedoms)
America was founded on FREEDOM, but until 1810 there were  religious prerequisite for voting.
Lets go back to conditions when "AMERICA WAS FOUNDED" and see if you like it there.

Conservatives drag out the "AMERICA WAS FOUNDED" cliches and ignore PROGRESS!

I'm not the one crying like a baby about BIG GOVT... I think if the Conservatives left this country it would improve
at a much faster rate.

At least box isn't arguing the merits of "live and let live" anymore.  It is indefensible since it isn't the reality in the US.  It is more like "live like your social and economic planners tell you to live".  And if you don't like it-move to Somalia.

If you consider your "social and economic planners" to be your duly elected legislature... then yea.  You voted
for them, just like I did.   YOUR SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC PLANNERS.

Geesh I guess you don't even understand what you posted to begin with. There is nothing wrong with progress when the live to let live applies just like the examples you gave. There is a difference when live and let live is ignored to fulfil ones own opinion onto others like you wish to do

You think legislators plan?LoL!!

Most of the rules imposed on us are mandates and regulations imposed by unelected bureaucrats.  Geez, the latest regulation mandated by Kathleen Sebelius wasn't a LAW, it was a mandate by a bureaucrat.  If it were a law, there would not have been a compromise between the department of health and human services, the Catholic Church, and the insurance industry.  Not one legislator was involved.  There is no rule of law.  Our legislators vote to empower regulators to impose regulations and mandates when ever they wish.  And my one legislator can do nothing about it.  I cannot vote Kathleen Sebelius out of office, we are at her mercy.

Representative republic and centrally planned societies do not work.  That is why we are ruled by empowered bureaucrats unrestricted by rule of law, the slow process of deliberative debate that takes place in congress, and the democratic consequences of an election.

Our central planners head bureaucratic agencies, not senators or representatives.  Are you just realizing this?

~If you are against abortion, don’t have one.
~ If you are against the use of contraceptives, don’t use them.

~If you are against sex education for your children, opt out.
~If you favor abstinence, practice it.
If you believe homosexuality is a matter of choice; that evolution is bogus; and that the Bible is the ultimate
arbitrator, then believe it.
~ If you are against same-sex marriage, don’t attend one.
~If you believe marriage is only between one man and one woman, then don’t get divorced or practice polygamy.
~ If you believe that pedophiles, homophiles, and sex abusers are the very few exceptions among
evangelical and Catholic clergy, and that “victims” of child abuse are liars, so be it.

However, these are all personal choices that you are free to make.
You complain that government does not observe the Constitution, and controls or limits your freedom,
yet you insist that everyone else should accept the intolerance of your religious dogma, and worse still,
make it the secular and civil law of the land.

Live and let live isn't a mental, moral, economic or social reality to the socialist liberals. The left will NOT let ANYONE liveand let live!

Try to opt out of medicare when you are 65!! BIG JOKE!!
Picture it......you are 65 and still working and are paying for private insurance. You opt out of medicare since you are paying for private health care for you and your spouse.....hence saving the government $$$$ to cover the two of you. First you need to put it in writing and send it to the government to 'prove' you have private health care. THEN....you turn 70 and you want to retire with medicare. Oh you can get it......but you will be penalized for NOT using it for 5 years. They FORCE a penalty, aka higher rate on you to make up the 5 years of not paying the premium.

For FIVE years you have continued to work, pay for your own private health care, still paying into the SS/medicare program through taxation AND never using it so you weren't costing the government a dime....when in fact you were saving them $$$$...........and BINGO.........you get PENALIZED by paying a higher rate!!!

Try wrapping your brain around that one!!!!! OMG

I know a person that takes care of a parent that collects social security.  The parent was collecting for about two years, when they received a letter from Social Security saying they have miscalculated and have been under paying by $200 a check, and they were going to send a check making up for the money not received.  They received the check worth about $5000 and paid off their car.  A few weeks after cashing the check and paying off the car, Social Security sent another letter saying they made a mistake and that there initial calculation was correct, and that they were going to take the next 5 checks in order to pay back the $5000 overpaid.  This left the persons parent with no income for 5 months!  This person pled their case to Social Security to garnish a percentage of future checks.  They said they can't do that, even though it was their mistake.  After pressing the Social Security rep as to WHY they won't garnish a percentage of future checks instead of taking 100% of the next 5 checks - they said because your parent MIGHT DIE before it was completely recouped.

The persons parent had to apply for welfare benefits to get by.

Here is the answer --- for the words  "someone wants to have an abortion" substitute the words "Someone wants to kill another human being"   --- abortion is killing another another human being .. and therefore is immoral and should be illegal.
