I would have used the word "Yugo".

Bullock acts like a Yugo looking for a Cadillac

Re Feb. 16 article, “Bullock looking to trade in Chevy job for Cadillac post”:
Over the past few months there have been several articles in your newspaper and others Capital Region papers addressing the saga of Schenectady County Community College (SCCC) President Quintin Bullock’s job search.
Every American has the freedom and right to better themselves by pursuing career opportunities that provide the desired challenges and rewards. We commend such efforts. However, we also commend dedication, integrity, loyalty and appreciation. We don’t applaud people who denigrate an institution that has provided a steppingstone opportunity to them by making statements that are de-motivating to hard-working students and staff at that institution.
We also appreciate candid, forthright public statements on the part of any spokesperson from the Board of Trustees regarding the actions of any prominent employee at that institution. Trustees are supposed to represent the interests of Schenectady County and its taxpaying citizens, not to be lobbyists or agents for the president of SCCC.
Finally, I would like to address those hard-working students who may feel disrespected by Dr. Bullock’s statements. Your school provides an educational opportunity to acquire and develop skills your country will need you to have and utilize for the next 50 years. Pursue excellence and don’t let the words of anyone dissuade you from your goals; not even someone seeking a Cadillac job but behaving in a Yugolike manner. Your success will depend much more on your personal efforts and enterprise than upon the “Chevy” or Ivy-draped “Cadillac” you drove to get there.
Hopefully, Dr. Bullock will be successful in his job search sooner rather than later.

SCCC trustees stand by Bullock despite remark

BY MICHAEL GOOT Gazette Reporter

If Schenectady County Community College officials were upset about President Quintin Bullock’s comments likening SCCC college to a Chevy rather than a Cadillac, they didn’t show it at Monday’s Board of Trustees meeting.
Bullock is one of three fi nalists for the presidency of Frederick Community College in Maryland and during a public forum Feb. 14, he compared SCCC to a Chevy and Frederick to a Cadillac.
Bullock apologized for his comments in a letter to the trustees and staff, saying that he attempted to use the analogy to contrast the different sizes of the two institutions and did not mean to disparage SCCC.
Frederick Community College has not selected a new president, according to spokesman Michael Pritchard. Their college trustees anticipate making a decision sometime before their March 28 board meeting.
No mention was made of the incident in the public portion of Monday’s SCCC trustees meeting.
Chairwoman Denise Murphy McGraw said before the meeting that other than some letters to the editor in the newspaper regarding the incident, she has not received any negative comments from the community.
“I think by and large most people understand what he was trying to say,” she said.
McGraw said Bullock has apologized for his words and she accepts that. “He’s done great things when he’s been here. I don’t think by any stretch of the imagination he, of all people, would try to tear down his own legacy,” she said.
McGraw pointed to Bullock’s accomplishments: the 264-bed student housing facility being built across the street from the campus, the 13,000-square-foot addition to the music wing, the classes at Center City and the $11.2 million grant the college received to train people for health care careers. ..................>>>>........................>>>>..................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01101&AppName=1

Wonder how the student body would feel if Bullock doesn't get his job in Maryland?

He just slammed their college.....the one he's been running for years?

Will SCCC ask him to leave anyway or don't they care that their 'leader' is simply a traitor?

The classes at Center City are no "accomplishment". Especially forcing students to cross dangerous Erie Boulevard. In any other County he would have been sacked. Never here. Here they support his idiotic statements that destroy SCCC's reputation. Denise "Quick Draw" McGraw needs to wake up and smell the coffee. Between this and her support of the horrible leaf bag tax she can't help stepping in it.

Bullock misses cut for new job, expects to continue at SCCC
BY MICHAEL GOOT Gazette Reporter
Reach Gazette reporter Michael Goot at 395-3105 or mgoot@dailygazette.net.

Schenectady County Community College President Quintin Bullock has been passed over for a position as president of Frederick Community College in Maryland.
Frederick officials selected Frederico Talley, currently vice president and dean of the College of Southern Maryland’s Leonardtown campus.
Bullock was one of three fi nalists for the position. Like Bullock, Talley is black. He will be the fi rst black president in FCC’s history.
Bullock, who has been SCCC’s president since July 2009, was criticized for saying during a public forum that SCCC was a Chevy and FCC was a Cadillac. SCCC officials have continued to stand behind Bullock, who apologized for his choice of words.
FCC spokesman Michael Pritchard said the board chose Talley within the last week and was working out the details of the threeyear contract before Thursday’s announcement. Talley will start July 1 and earn an annual salary of $180,000.
Bullock was one of three fi nalists to lead Stark State College in Ohio before removing himself from consideration in December.
SCCC Board of Trustees Chairwoman Denise Murphy McGraw said she is happy that Bullock is staying and does not believe these two job searches have been a distraction. She said she talks to Bullock every day and he is not involved in any other job searches.
McGraw said Bullock was recruited for both positions by the American Community College Trustees, which she used when she found Bullock for the SCCC job. “I know that he is very highly thought of by them,” she said.
Bullock is in the final year of his three-year contract. He is making $158,875 a year at SCCC.
McGraw said the next step is working out a contract extension for Bullock. She said she did not want to speak for the other members of the trustees but she wants him to stay.
Bullock issued a statement about the matter through the college’s spokesperson: “I look forward to continue working for Schenectady County Community College. We have several exciting projects under way, and I am happy to be able to see them through completion,” he said. “SCCC is experiencing a renaissance with strong enrollment growth, new programs and the expansion of facilities, and we are exploring new partnerships with business and industry in the Capital Region. More and more students see SCCC as a fi rst-choice, premier community college, and I am proud to continue working with our excellent faculty and staff to take the college to its next level of greatness.” ................................>>>>.....................>>>>......................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01301&AppName=1

awwwwwww sad

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
